1969 CORVETTE 435 HP LZ, AUTO. POWER STEERING, AMFM, HIGH POINT SHIFT TURBO 400. NOW HAS A 73 454 TRUCK MOTOR. I DO HAVE THE TRI CARB SET UP. ONE REPAINT IN LEMANS BLUE. ORIGINAL BLACK VINYL INTERIOR . NICE EXCEPT FOR SMALL DRIVER SEAT SPLIT AND HOLE. ORIGINAL GLASS. GOOD BODY. HEAD LIGHTS AND WIPERS WORK. HAVE TO CLOSE HEADLAMPS MANUALLY. RUNS AND DRIVES. FACTORY SIDE PIPE CAR. THE COVERS WERE PAINTED. CORRECT SIDE PIPE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. ORIGINAL NUMBER MATCH TRANSMISSION WITH CY CODE- 427, 435HP. ORIGINAL REAR END WITH AX CODE WHICH IS A RARE 3.36 POSI USED ONLY IN AUTOMATIC L71 CARS. CAR WAS BUILT OCTOBER 1969. THIS WAS AN EXTENDED YEAR. THE 1970 MODEL DID NOT COME OUT TILL JAN 1970 DUE TO THE STRIKE. I DID NOT DROP THE GAS TANK TO LOOK FOR A TANK STICKER. HISTORY- CAR WAS PURCHASED BY SECOND OWNER IN 1971 - A LADY. SHE SAW IT FOR SALE IN THE FIRST OWNERS FRONT LAWN NEAR KANSAS CITY. SHE BOUGHT IT AND DROVE IT. BLEW UP THE ORIGINAL MOTOR IN 1973 . I WAS TOLD THE HEADS ARE ORIGINAL BUT I DID NOT CHECK. THE FRONT LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT HAS SOME SMALL RUST AS SHOWN.CAR HAS A FEW PAINT CHIPS AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS ON MY WEBSITE. I JUST HAD A NEW MASTER CYLINDER INSTALLED. THE FRAME IS EXCELLENT. Unfortunately, we are in the days of more fake L71's existing than GM ever built. People re-stamp blocks, fake paperwork...you name it...to recreate one of the ultra rare and thus more valuable 435hp tripower cars, so the fact that "CY" code transmissions WERE ONLY placed behind solid lifter motors (L71/L88/ZL1), unlike the 4 speeds, the trans proves this to be a real L71.
  • Out of 38,762 corvettes built in 1969 only 2,722 were optioned with the L71 427/435 motor.
  • Out of those 2,722 only 255 came with the high shift point TH400 transmission.
