      ----------

      BODYWORK/TRIM

Take a close look at this striking Super Sport and you'll feel like you've stepped right back in time. The car's clean restoration, conducted by Camaro Specialty of Charlotte, North Carolina, hides a straight body under correct LeMans Blue 2-stage that was sourced from the pros at PPG. All that steel goodwill is topped by a pair of black hockey stripes, which foretell exactly the asphalt patterns the car's vicious big block aims to paint. And traditional RS/SS aesthetics are complemented with dual chrome mirrors, a ZL-2 cowl induction hood, optional quarter trim and a correct D80 spoiler package.

      ENGINE

If you wanted to factory-order 1969's top-of-the-line Camaro, you had one option: 396 cubic inches of big block Detroit iron! But, it ain't '69 anymore, and Chevrolet's ultimate large-displacement offering eventually punched out 454 cubic inches. A culmination of those two numbers is exactly what you'll find under this coupe's raised hood: 454 cubic inches of Chevrolet big block that's cleverly disguised as an L78 396. At the top of the mill, a black, single-snorkel air cleaner funnels wind into a big Holley carburetor that's threaded to a familiar Winters intake. Spotless chrome valve covers reflect fresh Packard TV R Suppression cables above iron heads and fully restored exhaust manifolds. At the back of those valve covers, a traditional points distributor rides between a rebuilt wiper motor, a new coil and a fresh brake booster. And a heavy duty radiator sends coolant around a shrouded fan via reproduction GM hoses and new tower clamps. Naturally, this coupe's impressive engine bay, comprised of smooth, Satin Black fenders, correct stamps and new, factory-accurate decals, is clean and 100% detailed. The Chevy Orange block features a typical array of stainless lines and textured ancillary pieces. And everything, from the car's factory power steering to its reproduction Delco battery, displays an overall excellent appearance.

      DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Under this awesome F1 you'll find a factory-fresh chassis and super solid floorpans that, like the car's straight exterior panels and storied engine, have been restored to the absolute highest standards. The torque-rich big block spins a rugged Muncie 4-speed that's connected to a correct 12-bolt posi-traction rear end and tough 3.73 gears. Holding that legendary drivetrain off the ground is a fully rebuilt suspension, which sports 100% factory specifications. Included in that suspension is correct, factory-optioned power steering and mandatory power front disc and rear drum brakes. Inside those brakes, an aluminized, true-dual exhaust system sends charred dinosaurs through a transversely mounted muffler and correct, bare tail pipes. And at the corners of those pipes, familiar Rally wheels spin 245/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around stainless trim rings and turbine center caps

      INTERIOR

Inside this cool Chevy you'll find a correct Deluxe Black Houndstooth interior that has to be one of the most stylish cockpits ever created. Traditional front bucket and rear bench seats, which feature deluxe headrests, frame a wood-trimmed console that's fitted with a chrome Hurst shifter and 4-pack accessory gauges. A pliable, wood-trimmed dash, which flows in to Deluxe door panels, hangs rebuilt telemetry over a correct looking AM/FM stereo radio. In front of the driver, a handsome Rosewood wheel spins around a tilt steering column. Thick floor mats protect like-new carpet. And behind the passengers, a new mat, new jack and full-size spare tire inhabit a fully restored trunk.
