1971 Chevrolet Blazer CST

THIS 1971 CHEVY CST BLAZER IS IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH: CST PACKAGE, FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING, FRONT POWER DISC BRAKES, POWER STEERING, FRONT LOCKING HUBS, TINTED GLASS, DOUBLE WALL REMOVABLE TOP, 350 MOTOR AND A TURBO 350 TRANS, THIS IS A SUPER DRY AND CLEAN BLAZER WITH A GREAT BODY.

THE PAINT AND BODY- It appears to me that this blazermaintains most if not all of its original Ochre paint. The paint is still shiny and very presentable however, being that it is 47 years old there are definitely minor chips and dings from use (see pics). The original paint on the inside of the Blazer is also inexcellentcondition. The body is in overall excellent condition. The rocker panels, floors and rocker boxes on these trucks are notorious for rusting out but these are perfect. When I got this Blazer I took the end caps off and treated the rocker boxes inside and out with Rust Bullet to stop any surface rust dead in its tracks and preserve thecondition of the boxes and then covered it in flat black. The original fire wall still has the factory grease pencil markings on it. There are no rusty spots on the driver's or passenger side door bottoms as is common. The quarter panels are original to the Blazer and are in great, solid condition but there may be a small dent here or there. The truck has never been hit or in any kind of accident. Both of the doors are super clean and solid with no signs of rusting through or rust bubbles, they look great. Both of the front fenders are in great condition and are not beat up or rusting out, they are very clean. I have checked the passenger side fender down low in line with the battery and it shows no signs of rust. Same goes for the driver's side. The radiator support is original andshows no signs ofrust. The windshield pillars and upper windshield area both outside and inside are rust free and are in super condition. Behind the inner windshield rubber across the top is also dry and still shows its original paint and the pinch weld this area is not rusted out (another common area of rust on these trucks). The top of the metal dash down by the windshields rubber is in super condition and still has the original paint and is not rusty or water stained. The hood is not bowed and it fits great, however there are a few very shallow dents (have to catch them in the right light to see them) and the front edge has road chips from use (see photo). The original hood hinges are in good condition and are not tired. The removable double wall hard top is in great condition and is not split, cracked or chipped anywhere. The back hatch is also in good condition and functions perfectly. Overall the body on this blazer is one of the cleanest and rust free Blazers I think you'll find anywhere. Doors close perfectly and all gaps are as good as the day it left the dealer. The bottom side of this truck is not at all rusty and it is apparent underneath this truck was never used for off-roading. Don't be fooled by other ads with all of the "spray can detailing" where the whole underside is freshly painted, those guys are trying to hide something. ThisBlazer has no secrets, all its original GM panels and paint are there and in-tact. Never beat up, crashed, abused to lifted. The outline of the original dealers sticker from Colorado Springs can be seen on the tailgate See photo) which I think is pretty cool.

It appears that the floors were treated with POR-15 or something by the previous owner and a drip of it escaped and can be seen on the top of the rocker panel when the door is open.

THE INTERIOR- The inside of this Blazer is in great condition and is clean. The two front seats are stock to the Blazer and they look great with no tears or snags, just a little wear on the driver's side seat. The factory back seat to the Blazer is the same its in great condition. The carpet appears to be originaland as such it's slightly faded but still in great shape. The dash pad has a small crack in it and is discolored from the sun. The sun visors are in good condition they look great. The dash bezel is also in good condition and all of the gauges are all in good working including the rare optional factory tachometer. The steering wheel is a replacement from LMC that is only about 6 months old.

I wanted a stereo in the truck but didn't want to cut the dash or the doors so I installed a lockable console with a place for a radio in it. This also comes in very handy if you want to leave the truck somewhere and the top is off. The original console is in good shape and will come with the truck when sold. I also added aftermarket kick panels in the front that fit over the factory kick panels and accommodate speakers. If they were removed you would never know they were there. The rear speakers are just boxes that sit on the floor. All four speakers are removable and nothing on the truck was cut to install any of it.

The heater switches are intact and are not broken. Over all the inside of this Blazer is clean and other than showing some gentle wear is perfect. The paint on the driver's side door is worn off to the primer from people resting their arm on it. I happen to like the way it looks because it speaks to the originality of the truck

BODY BUSHINGS - The body bushing were dried out so they were replaced two summers ago.

THE MOTOR- This Blazers motor is a 350 that was rebuilt back by the previous owner. I have the receipt and it says it has an "RV cam”. I think outside of that it was just freshened up. It runs perfect and sounds great. This motor is not a leaker or a smoker. .
DRIVE TRAIN - The trans is a turbo 350 that was also freshened up with the motor. It shifts perfectly and crisply. No leaks. The factory 205 transfer case and the 4x4 is in good working order. The rear end is tight and does not clunk or howl. The hubs lock and unlock nicely. THE REAR HAS THE OPTIONAL 3:73 POSI-TRACTION rear that came with the truck as shown on the option sticker in the glovebox.

A/C - The truck is equipped with factory Air Conditioning. It is all there but the compressor wiring is unplugged and I have never tried to use it.

THE OVER ALL- This Blazer is not a perfectly restored show truck, it is a super clean survivor that was well taken care of and was not beat on or abused. ThisBlazer is ready to enjoy, it is a blast to drive and is super dependable. Thumbs up and questions EVERY TIME it's driven. This Blazer is the CST model that came with factory air conditioning and the lower wood grain moldings that are intact and clean for being original. The front end is nice and tight and this truck steers straight. The exhaustwas replaced a few years ago but since this truck is never out in anything but perfect weather it still looks like new. Wheels are in great shape as are the tires. I have the original spare storage rack but it didn't fit the 32" tire so I removed it. It will go with the truck when I sell it. ThisBlazer is equipped with its stock suspension; it has never been lifted or altered. The glass is all original and in good condition other than a rock chip in the windshield that's been there since I owned it. The front and rear bumpers are original, straight and look like new, no rusting or pitting at all. The bottom side of this Blazer is not under coated or anything so it is clear to see that it is not a rotted out mess. This is an exceptionally nice Blazer that has been very well cared for its whole life. You'd look a long time to find one this solid and dry. These are increasing in value every day and finding an original one that isn't rusted, hacked or beat to death is almost impossible, yet here you are! "Their only original once"

I was limited to 24 pics but if there's something in particular you'd like a photo of let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate you if I have time.

This very truck was just featured in the winter 2017 issue of Hagerty Magazine. The article was "The 2018 Bull Market List" which listed nine vehicles to watch for to increase in value in 2018. See photos from the magazine in the listing. The ONLY reason I'm selling this is because it's been a lifelong dream to own a Cobra replica and I can't afford to do that without selling this and with kids a few years away from college it's now or never.

**CT does not issue titles for vehicles of this age so it will only come with a bill of sale. I do have the Ohio title and bill of sale that came with the truck when I bought it.

Odometer reads 60,513 but I don't know if that's accurate. My guess is that it has flipped but I have no way of confirming either way.
