Description:

1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport SS

For sale is a beautiful and 37,844 original mile 1986 Monte Carlo SS. I purchased the car a year ago from the first owner who had it for 31 years. I searched for a long time. It was his baby, stored in a climate controlled garage and only taken out on nice days.

This is not a restored car, it has been only lightly used and meticulously cared for since new.All paint is 100% all original, the pinstripes are all original, the seats and carpet - all original...you get the picture. All the panels are as they left the factory, no rust and no body damage, ever. Now you know I am not a car dealer, as a car dealer would never guarantee you that!

I purchased the car to use on the weekends, but have simply have not had time with other family priorities and with construction of a second home taking up all of my free time.I have put only about a hundred miles on it in the last year.

While I would consider this car a pristine example, I have done a few things to the car to make it more usable and enjoyable as a driver, the following are all new:

  • ·New Wheels & Tires - American Racing 17x8's in the front and 17x9's in the rear w/ BFG G-Force Comp-2 Sport 245/45 and 275/40 tires, respectively (only 75 miles on these).
  • ·Brand new AC-Delco A/C compressor and dryer. This car has cold R134a A/C!(and we need it in Texas)
  • ·All new belts and water pump
  • ·New Magna-flow stainless exhaust- complete system to the exhaust manifolds, including new high flow cat.(I kept the original rust free exhaust system in case the new owner wants it).
  • ·Headliner & sun visors recovered in original GM fabric (near impossible to find and not the cheap off color stuff sold on Ebay). It is pretty common for the original glue to break down on these after so many years.

There are very few items on the car requiring a fix, so for full disclosure, here they are:

  • ·Dome center light does not turn on
  • ·Power door lock switch does not work (power trunk release works fine)
  • ·Radio turns on but all you hear is static, might be an antenna connection

That's it, the above 3 items are very minor and I just have not had time to get to them. The car drives fantastic and has a very comfortable gliding cruise at freeway speeds. The driveline, suspension, steering, rubber and trim components of this car are in very good original condition. The condition of this car can be best described as a time capsule museum piece that sounds and looks like a proper muscle car and that you won't fret over using.Hard to take her out without getting a thumbs up or raising nostalgic memories for folks.

This is an honest car and is presented without anything covered up or a bunch of detailing. With my son's help, below is link to a short walk around video that will also allow you to hear her run.

Included with the car are the original oem tinted black headlight covers and GM floor mats. Also included are extensive maintenance records, owner's manuals, a copy of the window sticker (well optioned car with an MSRP of $15,644) and two sets of GM factory keys.

I have a clear Texas title for the car in hand.Location of the vehicle is Sugar Land, Texas 77479.Buyer is responsible for transport arrangements, I can accommodate almost any scenario.A $500 deposit is due within 24hrs and full payment in 3 business days (unless agreed differently pre-purchase).I am not a dealer so this will be a private cash sale.My feedback speaks for itself, not a single negative review in over 10 years.Happy to answer any questions or speak with serious buyers if you provide a phone number via Ebay's "ask a question".Thanks for having a look...Alex
