Cliff notes: 1941 Chevy 1/2 ton. 143k mile 4.3V6 and NV3500 5 spd manual trans, S10 chassis. Old look, modern everything. Perfect for a shop runner, great truck for someone who wants the old farm truck look without banging or rattling or tinkering with carbs when the weather changes. This is not thrown together for a quick sale, I love making dissimilar stuff work together and have a very specific vision for the completed trucks. I am not a pro builder, just a hobbyist, so not every weld will be ground smooth nor has every minor imperfection been fixed. I have however spent over 10k in parts and donors and added 7 months building the truck simply and very strong. Price it yourself, you will need: a complete 1/2 ton 1941 truck, a good condition S10 donor, new wheels and tires, new brakes, new interior, new suspension, new HVAC, new everything, and depending on how you value your time, this is a bargain.
1995 S10 donor with 4.3 Vortec TBI and NV3500 5 spd, 3.42 rear axle with G80 locker, odometer showing 143k and runs with no smoke or leaks, great oil pressure. maintenance to the donor included: cap rotor plugs and new TBI injectors, new fuel pump and filter. true dual exhaust with smithys glasspacks, very mellow but still razzy at higher rpm. new front brake rotors and wheel bearings, new calipers and pads, new hard and soft brake lines front and rear. balljoints and bushings showed recent replacement but the right lower arm balljoint was spun in its pressing so the entire lower arm was replaced. new sway bar end links, new shocks, belltech 2" drop spindles and 1" drop springs, atlas 4" drop leaf springs with intact overload. new aluminum radiator with new 16" curved blade fan and 210/195 fan switch/relay. I used the entire firewall section of the S10 grafted to the 41 cowl to mount all the pedals, including the heavy steel structural supports, the pedals are very solid and operate smoothly. engine and trans has been moved back 10" with new motor and trans mounts. new energy suspension polyurethane body bushings, I designed and constructed the steel body mounts. frame has been painted black.
inside the truck the windshield has been rebuilt with new glass and seals and center bar, and the crank out works great in and out. It has new vintage air mini system with heat only, but has the evaporator for adding AC, the OEM donor air conditioning compressor is still on the engine. finishing AC would require a condenser and dryer installed in front of the radiator, and lines made, and the system charged. the OEM donor lines are included, if they will help. the original S10 seat has been recovered in black vinyl, laid new black carpet over thick 5/8 jute which is laid over foil backed sound deadening. the original removable section of the floor is still removable in case you ever need to do transmission work. the original 1941 shifter was modified to attach to the NV3500 and a pleather boot was added. the original donor shift lever and boot are included. the donor gauges were modified to fit the 1941 dash and work with no warning lamps on. even the "shift" light, prompting you to upshift, works. the dash was sanded and painted black. speedway 1940 Speedway steering wheel. the glovebox lock is new, there is a custom kydex glovebox behind the door. interior is roomy, I am 6' and a big guy and I fit fine.
driving the truck is like driving a modern car, very smooth and lots of power. the ONLY thing I could say as a nit is that reverse grinds if you are not at a complete standstill before shifting into reverse, otherwise the drivetrain shifts smoothly and the clutch take up is easy. I do not drive it in the rain because it doesnt have wipers and its 77 years old, they had different expectations for weather resistance. I have a half tarp and bungees to keep water out when parked outside that will be included. you should expect a 77 year old truck when bidding, the door handles droop a little. the doors are slightly misaligned, there is no adjustment in the hinge bolts and the factory service manual says the adjustment is done with a large pipe wrench bending the hinge itself, a procedure I do not have the tool or skill for.
Be aware: There was rust on the rear part of the floor that has been cut out and replaced with new steel and rectangle tubing. Other rust has been patched, no bondo all steel. There is still some rust on this truck, notably the top of the tailgate, I found this bed upside down next to a storage shed where it had been since the 50s. There is superficial rust on the running boards, I repaired the rusted supports underneath. The drivers door has a small gap at the top that may be solved with adjusting the hinges, or some door seal gaskets, or both. The AC is not hooked up, but parts are included to make that possible, you will still need more. There are dents and dings and other character marks, it would cost a small fortune to bodywork and fix this truck to be perfect. I recommend that you at least drop by and drive it before bidding because there will be no returns accepted or refunds given, and becaus driving it will only make you appreciate all the time I spent getting things right, like the pedals and the seating position, the accessibility of everything under the hood, how quietly it moves down the road.
TERMS:
This truck is being sold AS IS and WHERE IS. The drivetrain has low miles (less than 6k a year!) but it could last a week or 10 years. I am not an expert in titling in your state but the truck will come with the following documents: 1. CLEAN 1941 title, with VIN that matches the VIN on the cowl plate, in my name, with odometer statement and selling price statement on reverse. 2. Title to donor S10, signed over to me. this is the VIN that will show on the OBD port scan and the VIN that is stamped in the frame. These are the documents required to register the truck in Kansas, it is your responsibility to ascertain the requirements to register in your state. I am not offering any warranty nor will I be responsible for any other inspections or costs/labor to meet/pass those inspections.
please do not bid if you do not intend to buy. this is a relist because the winning bidder asked to have his bid removed two hours before the auction end. I honored his request instead of trying to get him to honor his bid after the auction.

this is a walkaround /short drive video below. you can hear how quiet the truck is. it was 97 degrees with 60% humidity when this video was taken. for a testament to how easy the truck is to drive, that is my wife driving! please note, the brake light is on the dash but only because the sensor on the master cylinder was removed when the new lines were installed.
