1951 Chevrolet Other Pickups Base

Up for auction is a 1951 Chevrolet 3100, Half ton short bed pickup. This was a one family owner pickup until I purchased it from the grandson of the original owner. I bought the truck fresh out of the barn and started from there. The engine wasn't stuck but I lubricated the cylinders anyway and let it set a couple days. Then I started by giving it a complete tune up that included New distributor cap, points and rotor button. New spark plugs, plug wires and oil change. New fuel pump and new fuel lines. I rebuilt the original carburetor. A new battery and fresh gas and she fired right up and purred like a kitten. I took it down the road and the brakes didn't work so I ordered all new brake system which included New master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, New pre bent brake lines and new brakes hoses. I didn't want to use the old gas tank so I put a temporary tank behind the seat. New original tanks aren't that expensive, I just didn't get around to ordering one. The floor boards have been patched and I wanted to show a picture but I reached my limit on pictures but the truck is 67 years old, you have to expect some rust, that's why they sell replacement floor boards for this truck. As a matter of fact, they sell everything for this truck but you could hook up the lights and drive it the way it is. The steering and shifting is a little stiff from being in storage for so many years. A good greasing would do wonders. The original seat is in good shape and the up and back adjustment works and locks in place. Still has the original seat cover. This truck is bondo free. I sprayed a flat clear to preserve the natural patina. Glass is all good except the passenger side wind shield has a small crack at the bottom. fogged around the edges but it only adds to the patina! Everybody including me thinks the truck looks great just the way it is but you can put your own personal touch to it. Thank you and good luck bidding!
