Description:

1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Up for sale is a 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
This a project car and needs restoration. However,it is also a daily driver and runs great.
You have a few options here. You could tear it down to nothing and completely restore it,you could drive it while you fix it up or you can just drive it as is. This car runs nice and strong. No smoke,no funny noises-just turn the key and go. Many new parts and quite a bit to list but it can still use some new bushings,a set of rotors(you make the call) and maybe a set of rear springs. However, the car is reliable at the present moment.
Heater works, fan works, gas gauge works-clock does not work.
Undercarriage is very solid and trunk and floors look good. I did notice a small section on the passenger floor that looks like it could be fixed and it is about the size of a wallet. Everything else is very clean.
This car was repainted who knows how long ago in the original green and it shows repair where a vinyl top once was I'm assuming. The rear quarters also need some bodywork/metal work if you want to do it correct and also around the lower lip of the rear window. Fenders,hood,doors,rockers,frame-everything is very solid from the best of my knowledge.
The dash and the doors panels are still very nice but it will need interior if you plan on restoring it. For a daily driver-it's okay for now.
All the pieces for the headliner are in the trunk, but it is missing a few pieces I wasn't able to locate.
I have driven this car,and she runs strong. It does not leak, smoke or tick.
The drive train is a 350 4 barrel(was originally a 2 barrel car),turbo 350 transmission and has a Posi-traction rear end with dual exhaust.
The air conditioning is all there but it is not hooked up. The compressor still spins fine and is not frozen.
The reason I am selling this car is that I bought it so I could have some fun with it and fix it up as well because I had a 1976 Caprice I was planning on letting a friend of mine get from me but when the Caprice finally came to me from Montana-I couldn't let it go. I have decided to restore that one. This Monte is a pretty cool car and gets lots of looks even as is. She deserves some love and to be brought back to her former glory.
I have tried me best to answer any questions you have before they arise and I think this is a good description of the car and the work it needs. Please do not expect a super nice and restored '71 Monte Carlo if you win-because even though this car has a TON of potential-it is a running and driving PROJECT CAR.
Thanks for checking it out and if you have any more questions,I will do my best to answer them.
The car goes down the freeway very nice at 60-70 mph with no issues.
