Description:

1962 Chevrolet Corvette

For Sale:1962 Chevrolet Corvette, 360HP Fuel Injection, 4 speed, positraction, 2 tops, White w/Red interior (original Ivory car), late December 1961 build. This is a real Fuelie, not a made-up vehicle. Not a 'trailer-queen' or show car, but a very nice driver.Car looks nice, but there are existing, mostly inconspicuous 'warts'.I have owned this car nearly 25 years. Actual Mileage is UNKNOWN!

This Corvette was purchased new in Cherokee, Iowa.History of ownership (may be incomplete) but includes a letter from the original purchaser/owner.

Currently installed is a N.O.M. - a 1968 Camaro L48 Long Block with the 1962 '7360' fuel injection unit, Corvette clutch housing and a correct casting date 4speed transmission. Most accessories are correct, original Corvette parts.

Includes an original '870' block, correct date (early December 1961) with a virgin stamping pad (NEVER stamped) - and even includes the original purchase receipt from December of 1961 when this block/engine was bought as an over-the-counter engine to be used (and was used) in a drag racing car.Included are correct 461X heads, a correct FI right exhaust manifold (undrilled for carb/choke this is a Very rare part) all necessary to build a correct 'matching -numbers' engine. Other correct and some N.O.S. parts are also included.

Front disk brakes(Car now stops really well) but nothing original was destroyed/modified, the original drum brakes are also included and everything could be returned to its' original, as delivered condition, to build an NCRS Top Flight Corvette. An alternator is currently installed (again, nothing original was modified), and a generator is included. For driving comfort, I also added an after-market cruise control.Great road car with its' non-original ratio (3:08 ratio) differential, the car is loafing at 65 MPH.

Included is the balance of the entire, original '68 Camaro drive-train - everything from the water pump to the Muncie M20 transmission tail shaft (front to rear), exhaust manifold to exhaust manifold (side to side), carburetor and air-cleaner to oil pan (top to bottom). When a correct engine is built and the existing long block is replaced with a totally correct 327/360 engine - this will be a valuable and easy to sell drive train package to the person restoring a first generation Camaro.

Car is currently located in Northern Minnesota (near Brainerd), however our Minnesota home has been sold and this car will be taken to our home in Mesa (Phoenix), Arizona within 2 months if it is not sold first.
