1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

Up for auction is an honest driver Quality 1962 Corvette with a black top. This is a very original Corvette with numbers matching in unrestored condition. The only thing not original is the paint which is silver blue paint code 912 from the 1964 corvettes. This car had a color change by the previous owner about 6 years ago 5 of which I have owned it. I would give the paint a 7 out of 10 it may be better but I am pretty critical about paint. There is a star on the hood where the previous owner closed the hood with the air cleaner screw that was too tall. I don't think it's very noticeable so didn't have it repainted. The original color is Honduras maroon. This is only visible in the center glove box. They did a good job on the color change. The interior is totally original and in good shape. I have the original air cleaner, steel wheels and hub caps. This car was purchased for my wife and she wanted it kept as original as possible without restoring it. With 3 kids she just doesn't get the time to use it much although I run it weekly thus the reason for the sale. The top is in good shape (no rips or tears but mild White spotting see pics) and is newer and the car runs and drives great. I just put a new battery in and the fiberglass body is in great shape no cracks and only a few minor area of spidering. The horn doesn't work and the speedo is a little off. Just had the shop go through everything in preparation for the sale. This included new bearings and control arm with bushings as needed. No oil leaks at all. Brakes and exhaust good.
The car is a 3 speed power glide that functions perfectly. Of the 14,531 or so Corvette made is 1962 only 1532 were born with the automatic transmission. This is a southern car and while the frame is under coated there is nothing in the way of rust. Both sets of tires are brand new.
I am not a Corvette expert and have done my best to describe the car as honest as possible. I encourage you to come look at the car or have it inspected. The inspection will need to be done at my residence at a time when I can be present as I'm not going to leave a stranger with the car unattended. I am a euro car collector and have been on eBay for years and have never had a negative transaction with cars I have bought or sold I attribute this the being honest. If you have a question ask. I have some shipping contacts that do a great job if you plan on having it shipped. The uship site can give you a good idea of shipping cost
Bid with confidence and happy bidding. Thanks
