1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary1978 Chevrolet Corvette Serial Number – 1Z87L85434763 At auction is this really nice 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary Edition. This Corvette was delivered to Joe and Ollie Johnson on July 26 1978 by Blackwell Chevrolet in Jackson, S. Joe died in December 2013 and I am helping his wife market the vehicle. 1978 was Corvette’s 25th anniversary and these cars featured Silver Anniversary nose and fuel door emblems. This Corvette has the L48 engine with 185 horsepower and a Turbo Hydramatic 3 speed automatic transmission. This car is a power steering, ower 4 wheel disc brake car. It is equipped with air conditioning that blows cold. The A/C compressor has been replaced in the last several years and we charged it recently. This is a T top car with removable top panels. The original covers for these tops are still with the car. In 2008 we stripped and primed this vehicle before painting it with DuPont base coat, lear coat paint. It has been wet sanded and buffed to a fine condition. Less than 50 miles have been put on the car in those years and it has always been in an enclosed garage since the paint was applied. The interior of the car is the original and has the original leather seats and carpets. All lights and instruments work (except the clock). The power windows work well. The AM/FM stereo (original) works well. The tires have almost no mileage on them (as is evidenced by the photos attached). The glass in the car is excellent. The engine, hich is the original, as always been serviced as per the manufacturers’ specs. In November 1981 an AAMCO rebuilt transmission was put in the car when the car had 18412 miles. Mrs. Johnson went by AAMCO annually over the next 19 years for them to service the transmission with the last service on November 30, 000. These 19 AAMCO service reports will document the mileage on this car. The mileage on the vehicle today 8/14/15 is 105105. The bulk of the mileage on the car was put on as Mrs. Johnson traveled between Jackson, S and East Tennessee to see her sister.
In preparation for selling this nice car we did a good bit of service work to it. Among other things we did the following; changed the oil and filter and greased the car; changed the transmission fluid; changed the differential fluid (poisitraction) and added the necessary friction enhancer;replacedall of the vacuum tubing on the car ( vacuum operates the headlight buckets, /c and more); replaced the two headlight vacuum actuators; changed theradiator hoses and heater hoses and put in new radiator fluid; changed the spark plugs; changed out one front brake caliper and both rear calipers. bled the brake system and put in new fluid; charged the air conditioning system. This Corvette is exceptionally nice with a documented history, wned by only one family since new. It drives great with no issues whatsoever. The car has been lovingly maintained and will make the new owner very happy. The car is for sale locally. We reserve the right to end the auction at any time. If the vehicle sells we ask that the agreed upon purchase price funds be paid through a bank wire transfer. Please direct all questions to Mike Martin – 601-906-1196 or email@example.com. The vehicle is located in Madison, S, 9110.
