Up for auction is a 1972 Chevrolet C10 Long Bed Pickup truck. The 1972 Chevy pickups are the most desirable of that generation and are highly sought after. It is the last year of the body style. Generally speaking… the short bed trucks bring a good bit more than the long bed trucks do at auctions and such… However, I have seen several long bed pickups bringing premium prices at a few auctions that I have attended this year as well as my regular big car shows that I attend. And why not… after all the long bed pickups ride a whole lot better and you see less of them making them a little more unique. We are beginning to see the same thing with vintage wagons and with select 4-door models as well. Either way this is a super nice restored 72 Cheyenne and it is priced well below short bed prices.

The truck was restored off-frame in approximately 2002. The gentleman that owned the truck back then and up until his passing recently loved and cared for this truck as most classic car owners do.

The paint is slick like glass and the body is straight down the sides (especially for a long bed truck). The doors shut nice and tight and all the glass is in good condition. The chrome and the trim are none less than excellent as you can see in the many pictures below.

The custom tan leather(ish) interior including matching door panels and headliner really set this truck off for me. Everything electrical and gauges/lights work as they should including the light under the hood when its raised. It does have tilt steering. It does not have AC and it never did… AC was an option in 1972 and yes even with the Cheyenne package.

The motor is a 1974 block rebuilt with a very mild cam and good horsepower (I don’t know exact HP) … It will get up and go. The motor and the transmission which is Turbo 350 were rebuilt when the car was restored in 2002 according to the previous owners. It has less than 2000 miles since that time. I believe this information to be true as the motor runs excellent with good oil pressure and no smoke or anything silly as such. The truck really runs well. It starts up easily with one turn of the key and it has an electric choke on the Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. It’s very clean and detailed under the hood and I just had all services performed on the truck. As I stated above the truck runs, sounds, idles, accelerates, brakes, handles and even smells great… it runs cool and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it anywhere or every day for that matter.

It is a real pleasure to drive this vintage pickup and it’s a true attention grabber. If it sounds like I really like this truck it’s because I do. This is not a desperation sell and the truck is not cheap but it is priced well and priced to sell. You know the old saying down here in the south “cheap aren’t good and good aren’t cheap” Ha Ha lol … It’s a good old truck

I can pick you up at the Augusta GA airport or the Thomson GA (small aircraft) …on almost any day except Sunday
