Description:

1951 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

Rust free west coast car.
The body, paint and interior were done by the previous owner in the 1990's. The paint shines nicely and it has a few chips. It looks nice for a 25 year old spray. I just had it buffed and polished and it is smooth as glass. Interior is in good shape though it is also older. Chrome and stainless are in nice condition. There is a bit of pitting on the front turn signal housings.
I have spent the last four years doing the drivetrain and suspension. Basically everything under the car is new with less than 300 miles since completed.
Rebuilt 283, TH350, and 10 bolt. Front disc and rear drum brakes. Mustang 2 front end.
Motor: Chevy 283. It came out of a 1960 Bel air and was still running. I had it fully rebuilt. Block was tanked and bored .030 over. We added heads from a HO 305 from the 1980s. Heads rebuilt too. Added in a nice cam shaft and it runs awesome.
Trans: Rebuilt TH350 with mild shift kit. I bought a cross member from Walton fabrication that will work with any of the popular Chevy transmissions. American shifter and lokar park brake handle finish it off.
Rear: Chevy 10 bolt with 3.08 gears and a Yukon posi. New axles bearings and everything else.
Brakes: Front disc with slotted rotors. Rear drums all new. All brake lines are new.
Suspension: Front end is mustang 2 and rear leafs and mounts are all new from Walton fabrication.
Steering: manual rack and pinion with a American made ididit steering column.
Also added new fuel tank and dual xcelerator mufflers. Sounds great.
Flaws: The windshield has a rock chip that has a spiderweb sticker on it. It's been that way since well before I bought it. Driver's side door window is cracked and I am including a new one with frame and all. Three paint chips on passenger side bottom of fender were touched up. One chip over passenger side headlight. One on the edge of each door. I can send pics. Interior chrome is showing it's age on the dash...it looks fine but I think it should be noted that it's never been rechromed.
Its not a trailer queen show car but it looks great and is a blast to drive.
