The following description is representative of what has been done to enhance a solid bodied 59 El Camino. I have owned car for 15 years and know of the cars previous owner of another 11 years. During these years car has always been garage kept in California, and never driven in rain. It has been driven approximately 1500 miles with current changes. I encourage you or a representative to see and drive this car prior to sale as all sales are final. I am not saying this to instill fear of the car but rather to say I am not afraid of letting this car go to a new owner knowing that it is safe and is not misrepresented. Everyone has a different idea about quality and how things are done when modifications are completed so ask questions or send a rep so you will be satisfied. I will also add that I have built a lot of cars with modifications including complete frame and suspensions I manufactured and have pictures of some that I can share with you if asked. This I believe to be a complete list of necessary information:
Motor: 2007 6 liter Chevy truck motor-360hp 360ft lb torque. Designed by Chevrolet to move a 9,000 lb vehicle but now does quite well in this 3500 lb truck. Estimated 42,000 miles on motor.Transmission: Fresh rebuilt 4L60E. B&M shifter with B&M shift handle to impersonate 4 speed ( But only 4-speed automatic )Car is (" drive by wire ")Front and rear independent suspension from C-4 vintage Corvette. Miles of use unknown but have only had to replace some bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends .Recent 4-wheel alignment.Fresh turned rotors and new brake pads.New dual diaphragm power brake booster/with appropriate brake master cylinder.Power rack and pinion came with front suspension.New 2 1/2" exhaust with glass pack mufflers and 24" resonators.New Bosch external fuel pump/ filter and regulator.New high pressure oil pump.New 'map' sensor, temp. sensor, cam sensor.New 3 row aluminum radiator/ on demand electric fan, ( throw the switch )New gas tank and fuel lines, and brake lines.New Mooneyes tach, works with adapter for computer.New heater core.New alternator.New battery.New converter for cable driven speedometer to work with electronic transmission.New Painless wiring. All gauges work. Windshield wipers work. All lights and signals work .Horn works.New carpet. Upholstery was done 10 years ago but remember this car has not been driven much and it looks as it did when installed.Bed is Rhino lined. Stainless around bed has minor denting all of which can be repaired.Bumpers were re-chromed in 2002. Have a couple scuff marks. Paint has a few chips and scratches, nothing you can avoid if you are driving around town and have a tight fit in the garage. The scallops are a different shade red with gold pearl over the top. Dash has silver pearl over it. All paint work shines just as the pictures show, no photo shop or lenses used.Rust was removed around wheel wells and replaced with metal. Under body was undercoated prior to my owning and appears to be gone over a couple patches in the rear foot wells.Tail gate, hinges and mounting surfaces are in tact without rust.17" Iroc wheels are not perfect but look great for their age. Rear tires were new 1000 miles ago and fronts had minimal wear. Windshield has chip on passenger side that was epoxied to stop further travel. Also has wiper streak. I have rubber and clips but never followed thru with picking up windshield available on E-Bay.
Added leafs to front and rear suspension helped create a very stable driving car in corners at higher speeds. The car responds quick with " drive by wire " . It stops quick with 4-wheel disc brakes. The power rack is really quick and makes you pay attention. I would drive car anywhere any time but have another which is my favorite so I only take this one out once a week. It thinks it's a sports car, not a truck.I live on the West Coast and am available from 9-9 @ 619 977 8184 pst. Still pictures available upon request.
