Description:

1984 Chevrolet Corvette COUPE

Here is my late brother's 1984 C4 Corvette, first model year, which he bought new in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He passed away in December 2014 and I got talked into bringing the car to my home in Fredericksburg, VA by my nephew and 2 sisters. Ithas the L83 Crossfire Fuel Injection (182 and 1984 only). You should read up on the L83, pretty cool engine at 230-250 HP. Allot of work has been done to this car since I brought it home, including new heavy duty shocks all around, new serpentine belt, new right-hand side valve cover gasket (right side gasket is included and should be replaced now as it has some seepage). I have a set of new throttle body gaskets (2) to install (Felpro gaskets hard to find) when you remove the air cleaner and bottom vacumm shield body to replace the left side valve cover gasket (easy job, left side is the difficult side). All fluids have been changed with appropriate additives (rear end limited-slip GM additive), new spark plugs, alignment has been checked, and new OEM rear "Y" pipe and mufflers installed from Eckler's Corvette. (The mufflers were stated as OEM specs, no droan. Honestly, they droan some as lower RPMs). The expert exhaust installer had a time replacing the read exhaust system as the "Y" pipe wasn't an exact fit. I had to bring the car back to his shop as the right side of "Y" pipe was touching/vibrating some on the frame/cross member. He got his torch out, heated the pipe, and adjusted the pipe away from frame or cross member, and is much better (see picture), but still has a rattle every now and then, but nothing like it was, and not very often, but could use a bit more adjustment I believe). The air-conditioning will need to be recharged. I charged it for my brother 3 and a half years ago, and had it blowing at 42 degrees, but the system does have a leak. I would evacuate the system, put a can of Enviro leak-stop in it, then charge it, and see where you are with it. The muffler expert said it is more than likely an "O" ring on the compressor or in a line. The buyer will have to have that A/C repair done. Heat, Defrost controls all work correct. I have his service records. The car is accident free and straight as an arrow, beautiful paint and deluxe silver pin-striping which matches the interior. Rare white exterior with smoked gray interior combination. I haven't seen another 1984 Corvette with this color combination anywhere! Go look everywhere. You wont find one. I have the glass top in a cover and looks brand new. The tires are Michelin, the real expensive performance type and have about half 50% of their tread life remaining. I would put a new set on, as they are about 7 years old. His car has always been garaged, the same at my house. I hurt my back a few months ago, and I can barely get in and out of the car now. I'm 61. It's Time for this beautiful car to find a new loving home. I've done other service work on the car, but can't recall what. The Bose radio works, power auto antena works fine, all lights work, car drives straight down the road, tires have been properly balanced. I believe this is one of the best preserved original 1984 Corvettes you will find anywhere at my asking price! I want my garage space back for other projects. I try and drive the car once a month. Sorry about my pictures, but it was raining outside this morning, I did the best I could do without backing the car out in the rain. I will try and upgrade the pictures during this listing, so check back often. Also included is a nice fitted cover, blue cloth type, and the factory 1984 service manual, and some other parts I or my brother have for the car. The VIN NUMBER is: 1G1AY0789E5132198. I reserve the right to cancel this listing if a local buyer gets it. HOWEVER, once I have a bid here on this ebay listing, I WILL NOT cancel this listing, as the ebay bidder will take priority over any local buyer, unless I have sold the car, then discover an ebay opening bid. So bid quick and often! I prefer CASH upon pick-up as any cashier's check will have to cleared/cashed before car leaves my house. $1000 paypal deposit required within 48 hours at close of auction. Buyer has to arrange pick-up or any transportation service. Pick-up and final payment within 5 days of close of auction.
Winning bidder is responsible for pick-up and/or shipping all at bidder's expense. I will back the car out of the garage into the large cul-de-sac in front of my house for loading by the transport company, or you can drive it away. The car drives straight and smooth, no pulsating brakes or shimmy in steering wheel. Plates have to go back to DMV here in Virginia and cannot leave with the car. This Car is sold as/is, where/is with no warranty of any kind or description, express or implied. You are welcome to come and see the car, test drive the car, take the car to a mechanic to have it checked out, at your expense. The muffler installer expert said the car is in excellent condition, very clean underneath, and if there is any problem, it is minor one. Just A Beautiful Vette! Offered at way below retail value.
