1970 Chevrolet Corvette LT1

You won't find a better representative of the third generation of Chevy's true American Sports Car than this 1970 Chevrolet Corvette LT1. It offers an unbeatable combination of a great looking exterior, beautiful interior and an upper-tier, factory correct matching numbers drivetrain that's in outstanding condition, and carries extensive documentation to chronicle its proud lineage, as well as the care it's received in restoring it to optimum form.
Third generation 'Vettes are truly impressive to behold. Patterned after Chevy's revolutionary Mako Shark II concept car design that wowed audiences on the 1965 Car Show circuit, you can only imagine how futuristic these cars seemed when they were introduced. Clad in it's original Silverstone silver hue it left the factory with, as you draw closer, you'll become ever more impressed with the quality of the paint job. All the finishing details have been looked after, including bumpers fore and aft that sit table-straight and sport blemish free, shiny chrome, sharp badging and signature fender grilles that show clean, unspoiled edges. Car enthusiasts have long prized the Corvette's T-top configuration for its versatility - it offers the option of open air driving, with the shelter of the protective T-tops just a couple of easy steps away. This particular model brings that versatility to an even higher level, with a removable rear glass window that allows oncoming wind to rush through the cabin as you motor down the highway.
The interior has benefited from a very high quality restoration that has left it looking very impressive, something these Corvettes are known for. The pair of bucket seats presiding over the cabin carry an upgraded look with new black leather surfaces that have yet to show any wear. Sitting between them is a very clean center console with working fiber optics - a rarity in and of itself and on each side are fresh door panels with woodgrain inserts. If you direct your attention just in front of the stock steering wheel, you'll see another feature that distinguished Corvettes of this era - the one of a kind, aeronautically-inspired dash area, with a full assortment of gauges extending out toward the center. With that low-profile Hurst shifter positioned within easy reach and the original AM/FM radio just in front, this is simply an outstanding vintage driving environment.
That's the matching numbers 350 cubic inch LT1 V8 sitting under the hood, carrying a 4-barrel carb and residing in a very clean engine bay. It represented quite an accomplishment for Chevy when it was released, as it was a high-revving powerplant that had the distinction of producing more than a horsepower per cubic inch - 370 horsepower to be exact. It teams up with a 4-speed manual Muncie M21 to produce a "hands on" driving experience befitting a performer like this. The undercarriage is unusually clean, featuring floor pans and suspension components that carry no road grime nor signs of having run aground, with a pair of Gardner mufflers leading to the dual exhaust in plain sight. Chevy recognized the value of equipping its prized sports car with 4-wheel disc brakes for fade-resistant stopping power and they're on display here, along with precise power steering that allows for easy navigation. This iconic Chevy sits on a set of 15" stock Corvette rims, outfitted with Goodyear Wide Oval bias ply tires.
