NO RESERVE AUCTION BID TO WIN

#CK 30903 = Reg Cab 1-Ton 4WD Dually

Up for bid is a once in a life time opportunity to purchase a very rare special factory ordered super low production #C-K 30903

1981 K3500 Chevrolet Scottsdale K-30, 4 wheel drive 1 ton reg cab SWB (131.5 w.b.) Dually with the first year #LE8 7.4L : 454 4V Big Block mated to a heavy duty MuncieSM465 "MM4" 4 speed manual with granny low and a heavy duty GM New Process "205 NP205" 32 spline inputtransfer case. It has the 10,000 GVW "R05" dual real wheels with the heavy duty Dana 70 rear axle and the hd Dana 60 front axle.

This is a true California survivor with a California history that spans 37 years starting as a special factory sold order from Bill Kasson Chevrolet a small town GM dealership in the center of Californias wine country in the small Sonoma Valley town of Healdsburg California a very small town that is world famous for some of the finest wines produced in the Mediterranean Climate of the Dry Creek Valley an ideal climate to produce high quality wine grapes and the ideal climate to age a very rare lightly used super heavy duty pickup truck. A real California carbuilt 117 miles south in Fremont California, shipped to the small dealer in Healdsburg as a sold order and has spent the last 37 years in Healdsburg exclusivly to move a tractor when needed around the large winereries. It has spent nearly 40 years in the mild climate of the Sonoma Valley. Any vehicle that is in this condition after nearly 4 decades deserves a second look as it is quite rare but to find a 1 ton 4 wheel drive dually with a factory 454 and 4 speed is nearly impossible.

Most are long gone as very few 131.5 wheel base regular cab pickups with dual rear wheels were ever produced and the ones that were were sold for commercial use in areas that required 4 wheel drive, places where snow and rust shorten the life of all tht is exposed to those elements also very low production because very low demand and very high price. All 1 ton 4x4 duallys prior were small block 350 or 400 small blocks. This was the first year for the 454 offered in a 4WD and 4 decades later how may of these are still around? The majority of GM 1 ton trucks with the Dana 70 "R05" Dual rear wheels option were the 164.5 wb "Big Doolie" crew cab designed to be the ultimate Camper Special in 1973. Very few 131.5 wb base regular cab 4wd K30s were ordered because the base price before options for a K-30 h.d. chassis in 1981 was $9,954 for base Bonus cab with 164.5 wb and 4 doors and the 131.5 wb reg cab was $9,191.00 only a $763. difference. That is the base price on a cab and chassis before options this truck as equiped was one of the most expensive vehicles on the lot. It was an expensive truck with all the options this truck has as with other duallys were purpose bought as they were to expensive to floor for the dealers and the big money for a Chevy dealerhip in 1981 was 1500 Silverado trucks, lower price and much higher volume for sales.

In 1981 people bought 1 ton dually trucks for very heavy duty use and most were all but used up and are gone.

You or I cannot duplicte this rare truck

1981- The front end sheet metal was redesigned. This consisted of redesigned fenders, with the side marker lights horizontal instead of vertical. the hood became a 2 piece design, with the cowl separate from the hood. This also required the hood hinges to be changed from earlier years. They went from an extension type spring, to a coiled flat spring. the hinge recessed into the cowl area. Earlier model yers, the hinges were just bolted to the inside of the fenders.

1981 was the first year General Motors offered the 454 big block in a K-30 1 ton 4 wheel drive and in 1981 all K series had manual locking hubs

WHAT IS A SURVIVOR CAR?

They have usually been cared for andlast decades as a daily driver, or are carefully stored and maintained enough where you can start it with nothing more than a new battery.

A survivor car may be in perfectcondition. It may have been kept undercover and only driven to town for weekly supplies. They usually have very low mileage and are often left in the most original state, with factory fitted accessories, original engine bay labels, and factory finished paint. The perfect survivor car is still owned by the first owner who might have log books, service history, receipts and even the original delivery docket.

In other words most trucks that look like this on Ebay are completley decked out in aftermarket parts from LMC or Classic Endustries or any host of others that reproduced original General Motors trim, chrome, body panels, interior pieces like seat covers, dash covers, mis trim with CHEAP CHINESE OR CHEAP TAIWANESEor any other "ESE" country that manufactures inferior Reproduction parts for American Companies that sell on the internet that were originaly made by General Motors 4 decades ago. "They dont make em any more" so people who restore vintage General Motors trucks and who repaint and replace much of the truck with Asian reproductions make a repainted truck with poor quality parts that to me would not qualify as a Survivor Car or Truck

They are only original once.....

Don't miss out on this rare find

They are only original once. It would be difficult to replace this rare classic in actuality it is difficult to find any car or truck especially a General Motors product much less a 4 wheel drive truck in this condition. That is fact. It would be difficult to duplicate this truck because trucks were purchased for work and over a period of years common sense dictates that by this age most are worn out especially 4 wheel drives that had a more limited production geared to people who needed 4 wheel drive in 1981 (unlike today) typically in snow country where rust is an issue that is not the case with this vehicle.

If you are looking for the real deal this is it if you have any questions or concerns regarding this vehicle please ask any questions before you place a bid. This vehicle is being sold with NO RESERVE and will sell to the last bidder. If you are interested in making an offer Please dont email and ask what I will sell it for it is being sold to the high bidder but reserve the right to sell it if the price is right. I am really not sure what the value is but I am sure it's a one of a kind that can't be duplicated

Thank you and good luck
