1948 CHEVY 1/2 TON SHORT BOX THRIFTMASTERAwesome 1948 Chevrolet 1/2 ton Thriftmaster short bed pickup. Chevy is an off-frame restoration, sitting on 1995 Chevy S10, 123 inch wheelbase frame refrabricated and shortened to 116 inch wheelbase. All fabrication done by certified fabricator, professionally done swap--no backyard hack job here. Done with tremendous attention to detail, not seen in many other trucks at this price. Frame completely hydroblasted and painted, with new shocks, brakes, brake lines, fuel lines, and new 20 gal fuel tank mounted between frame in rear, with electric fuel pump. Truck painted with Summit Acrylic Urethane cream yellow. Suspension is complete factory original with all new components (no lowering kit) so drives smooth and quiet and handles like sports car. Drive line is SBC 350 V8 with fresh rebuilt 193 heads, new high-rise aluminum intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Engine has ceramic coated headers, new exhaust, new aluminum high-rise valve covers and matching air cleaner with ceramic-coated intake and all other chrome and bright parts (pulleys, etc.). Transmission is freshened up turbo 400 with all new gaskets and seals, and balanced drive shaft. Engine cooled with a 3-row aluminum radiator and a 16 inch 3000 cfm electric fan with separate transmission cooler. Engine has 1-wire chrome alternator and 65000 volt HEI distributor with red cap, new power steering pump and belts, new red 8-mm plug wires and new plugs. Cab has all new glass and seals, and new custom floor tunnel for the big 400 tranny. Floor had some rust so replaced with new metal. Cowl panels had rust and were replaced with Goodmark replacement panels. Cab corners had very little rust, so repaired with metal and Duraglass, and in great shape. Interior has new Dolphin gauges, new recoated dash trim, new headliner. New interior and exterior door handles and window cranks finish the custom leather door panels off. Seat is adjustable out of 1995 Chevy 1500 Silverado, recovered in beautiful leather matching the door panels. Floor covered with sound-deadening material and hand-stitched marine-grade carpet. Tilt steering column from 1993 Chevy S10. New 1948 Chevy truck firewall mount power booster kit. New electric wipers, arms and blades included. New Speedway wiring harness installed. All lights and horn work. Truck bed floor is all new using Ultra decking material, looks great and will not rot. Minor dents and dings were left in to keep the classic look.This truck is very nicely detailed and a real showstopper that is a blast to drive! Truck starts, drives, stops great, and has no mechanical issues. Clear 1948 Chevrolet title in hand, no title issues.
