1930 Chevrolet Other Depot Hack

1930 Chevrolet 1 ½ Ton Depot Hack

Martin-Parry Station Wagon

When you talk about rare American Woodie pre-war cars, it is difficult to find anything that would be more rare than this 1930 Chevrolet 1 ½ Ton Martin-Parry Depot Hack/Station Wagon. Martin-Parry was a body building company that in 1930 was bought out by General Motors and became part of Chevrolet Body Division, General Motors Corp. This vehicle has undergone a frame off restoration and the wooden frame has been professionally restored by a well-known restorer of wooden boats. The engine was rebuilt and you can see that it is a quality restoration but not at the level of Pebble Beach. What is believed to be the original straight six cylinder with the original rebuilt 5-speed transmission all function as they should.

You can see that the wooden body has been completely and fully restored and looks great both inside and out. The vinyl roof has been installed in a very attractive manner. Even the floor boards in the back are original.

The odometer reads about 7,700 (could be the actual mileage but no documentation).

It is judged from its appearance that this vehicle can haul up to ten people using the two fold-down rear bench seats. Or it can transport six people with the two rear benches folded up and plenty of room for a ton of luggage in the rear area.

The restoration is about five years old and has the original wheels and wooden steering wheel (which was restored). There are even wooden steps for the convenience of anybody who is going to be a passenger in the rear fold down seat compartment.

This depot hack has been painted in the very attractive original medium blue color. The disk wheels really set it off!

If you are into rare Woodies or just love extremely unusual vehicles this Woodie might be just what you are looking for! This is a great vehicle for fun or would also be great for a museum because it is a real show stopper. Most experienced collectors have never seen one and maybe never knew that such an unusual vehicle existed from the Chevrolet Motor Division. The vehicle is fully running and has been used in parades. It would be great for touring around town or picking up your friends at the local train station. This vehicle is being sold on a Bill of Sale. It is believed that it never had a title but it is registered. The Bill of Sale will be supplied to the new owner.

One thing for sure, your chances of bringing it to a car show and seeing another one is just about zero!
