1968 Chevrolet El Camino Pro Touring

You are looking at an extremely well done Pro Touring El Camino. I purchased this car from a dealer who had purchased it from the owner at auction, I do not know much of the history on the truck, however I can say that there was a lot of time and money spent on this frame off restoration with a lot of custom modifications. When I purchased the truck it was reported to have a Gen IV crate 454 engine, however after purchasing and digging in the to block casting numbers, appears the block is from the 90's and as far as I can tell from my research was used in the SS454 pick-ups that GM produced, not convinced it was a GM crate engine. This does not however take away from the fact the engine runs very strong, it has Edelbrock aluminum heads and polished intake manifold as well as 750 CFM Durashine carburetor. Hedman ceramic coated short headers tied to full Magnaflow exhaust system. Serpentine belt system with polished alternator, AC compressor and power steering pump. The fan shroud has been painted to match the exterior color of the truck as well. The engine runs strong and is not overly built, never overheats and has very good oil pressure. The engine is coupled to a Tremec 5 speed and 10 bolt posi built by The Gear Shop in Paramount California, gear ratio is 3:73 which works well with the 5 speed. The frame was powder coated gloss black and the floorboards and underside of the bed were painted a flat black. Front and rear suspension is all Hotchkis with exception of front lower control arms which are QA1. Front also has coil over shocks. All new wiring and fasteners were installed and all bright work was completely redone. Since purchasing I installed a set of CPP Big Brake 4 wheel disc brake kit with vented/slotted rotors and powder coated calipers (originally had the stock front disc brakes and drum rears). The El Camino rides on Foose Nitrous wheels 18" front and 20" rear, tires are Yokohama 235/40ZR/18 and 275/35ZR/20. The interior is really nice with the factory bench seat, has full complement of Autometer Carbon Fiber Ultralight gauges. In dash JVC receiver with Blue Tooth as well as USB ports, CD changer located in the glove box. Power windows, tilt steering column and Vintage Auto Air system that blows ice cold in the summer and the heater works well in the winter finish out the interior. All of the exterior door handles, marker lights and rain gutters have been shaved and the gas fill was moved to the bed. The bed was coated with Rhino Lining and color matched to the truck. The hood has ghost flames painted on it as can be seen in the pictures. The only issue I have had with this truck is that the hood does not fit very well. When I had the truck inspected, the inspector did note that the hood was hard to open, I thought I would have time to adjust, but never got around to it. Appears the hood is steel 69 SS model that has been fitted to the 68, which is apparently a pretty common occurrence. If someone were to take some time to work on the adjustment of the hood, I am sure it could be fixed fairly easily. I did purchase a used set of billet aluminum hood hinges that will come with the truck, I never got around to putting them on.Since purchasing this truck over a year ago, I have put less than 500 miles on it which is why I am selling it. This truck needs to be driven and enjoyed and I just do not have the time right now and it just sits in the garage.I have the original inspection of the car that I commissioned prior to purchasing it and I will provide that to any serious buyer. It would cost you double my reserve price to build this truck. This truck can be driven and enjoyed as is.I have likely missed something, feel free to ask anything except my reserve price.
