Description:

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396

1969 Chevelle SS 396. According to DMV, Chevelle has been in Texas since the 70's with only 3 owners. Last owner for 25 years. Car is one of the cleanest Chevelle's I have seen.
Body: Floors, quarters, trunk, doors, fenders, hood are rust free. Passengers quarter has a small spot behind the rear wheel well. Vinyl top has some bubbling toward the rear but previous owner said it was like that after they got it done. It's not crunchy so it may be stuff under there but I don't know for sure, rest of top looks great. All the metal on this car looks original, for sure doors back and hood and front end. Pass fender may have been replaced when car was restored in the late 80's but I'm not sure.
Drivetrain: Car was restored in the late 80's and the original engine was swapped for a 350 because it got better gas mileage(remember it was the 80's). Still has big block frame mounts. Car runs good and engine seems sound. Still retains it's original 12 bolt rear end.
Interior: Looks good. Top of back seat has heat tears as the back seat, rear panels and headliner are original to the car. Front seats are nice, dash is very nice. Lights, turn signals, horn are in working order. Fuel gauge does not work.
Basically this car just really needs painted and if you wanted to put a big block back in it. I know in 69 it is hard to tell without documentation but this car has no patch panels on it. The rear quarters have never had Malibu emblems on them as there are no holes covered up. Trunk and quarters still have original factory splatter paint on them, trunk just has surface rust, nothing to fix. Rear panel has never been jacked with. Build sheet could still be in the car somewhere but that mission is for the next owner. With the starting price for a running driving 95% rust free 69 Chevelle you really can't go wrong. There is no doubt in my mind this is the real deal but if you don't believe it bid accordingly.
Thanks for looking,
