Description:

1966 Chevrolet Caprice Custom

Here is your chance to own the only one of its kind anywhere!!! Most enthusiasts know that Caprice was first offered in mid-year1965, but the only body style in that introductory year was a four-door hardtop version. Production two door versions of Caprice cars were not in the dealers until the following year, 1966. This is a complete custom built '65 coupe. Two cars were used in the construction of this black beauty (have paperwork on both cars). The frame, engine, transmission, rear, dash board and console are original to the 1966 frame. Then a 1965 Impala body was grafted onto the frame and the roof was cut off and replaced with the 1966 Caprice roof. This Caprice is a multiple show winner most recently as a reps/safety pick at the NSRA Tampa show.

Equipped with the powerful 396-325hp MK-IV big block, TH400 automatic transmission, and 12-bolt GM rear. Triple black arrangement screams top of the line elegance for Chevrolet. Black body, black factory vinyl top and black interior. Has bucket seats and factory console. Very rare fold down center arm rest for the rear seat was a Caprice feature in1965 only and this car has a perfect example of one installed. Full instrumentation includes quad gauge console package with the very rare clock and factory tachometer in the dash. Has an original auxiliary 4-way flasher under the dash. Power steering, power brakes (recently installed dual master with proportioning valve and new disc brakes on front with drilled and slotted rotors). Front end rebuilt with all new rubber and ball joints. Cold factory air conditioning, tilt-telescoping steering column, factory rear window defogger and factory AM/FM radio (works but I have a separate radio in the glove box with 4 hidden speakers). 15x7 Chevrolet rally wheels with Goldline radial tires, P215/65/R15 with smooth sidewalls (no lettering). LED Taillights. Did you notice the auxiliary bumpers in the front?

The engine has the correct and completely functional AIR pump andtubes which were installed on these big block cars in California (when was the last time you saw a working smog pump). The main shell body is a Southgate, CA GM unit. This one-off custom is being offered at far below its construction cost. The car is legally registered in FL as a 66 car with legal VIN, clear title as that was the chassis used in this custom build. The remainder of the other car used for the body during the construction project was discarded. Additional photos available upon request, and please don't hesitate to ask questions that you may have. Car runs great and drives like a new car. Have a 2" thick folder paperwork. No solicitors that want to help me sell it, like national vehicle marketing programs. Please no low-ball offers and lastly no trades will be considered.

Car will be at Daytona Turkey Run Friday and Saturday in the reserved club parking (drivers area). Call with any questions 352-573-7021.
