1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 stainlessThe first impact you get about this 55 is "THE STANCE". You know this car "MEANS BUSINESS" if it had to. NO FLUFF. It was BUILT RIGHT. car has "the Look" and "the Sound" to backup it's "mean Stance" A dry Florida car that anyone would be happy to own. The engine is a 396 bored to 408 cu. in. with the desirable 990 head, headers to mufflers and a Holly on Nitrous, The engine is "set back" . The tranny is a Winters Performance built Turbo 400 reverse valve body, transbrake, and 3500 converter. The rear end combo is a Ford nine inch,4:10 and a spool.
This engine combo makes it wind up like a small block but with that beautiful Big Block torque. The Body and it's floorboards, body to frame mounts are SOLID. This is not a body that has had the floorboards and mounts patched or replaced. This car was built and driven in Florida over 10 years ago. I bought it as you see it. I have used it as a summer car that I have used to feed my habit of wanting to listen to a "sweet" Big Block run down the road. It has been a crowd pleaser at The National car shows in Vermont for years. It has been one of the few Radical cars that actually drives around at events. The TV stations have used videos of it to promote car shows. Again, the stance, look and sounds along with the Custom Purple color is impressive I have priced this 55 at a fair price. It could demand more money than I am asking. I have an other car now nearing completion (Steel Willys) so it is time to see the 55 go to a good home. I am in my early seventies an had many rides in my life.....this particular 55 has been TOP on the list. You will not find a tighter car. The roll cage makes it ride like a high end touring chassis,
THE FRONT BRAKES ARE DISCS. THE STEERING IS RACK/PINION,10 POINT CAGE MAKES IT A TIGHT CAR WITH NO RATTLES OR
SQUEAKS,FRAME IS CHEVY/BACKHALFED,THE DOORS FIT BEAUTIFULLY AND CLOSE WITH A GENTLE MOVEMENT,THE WINDOW GLASS IN
DOORS IS CRACKED FROM A SCREW IN INTERIOR MOLDING BY UPHOLSTER'S MISTAKE (I covered with decals) BODY AND FRAME
ARE EXCELLENT, NEVER ANY FLOOR OR BODY MOUNT REPLACEMENTS DONE,ROCKERS (INNER AND OUTER ARE SOLID AND
PROBABLY ORIGINAL TOO)...FLORIDA... CAR. IS A BACKHALF CAR WITH ADJUSTABLE COIL OVERS AND LADDER BARS WITH DIAGONAL LOCATER, M/T REARS,,THE TRUNK AND HOOD
ARE FIBERGLASS, HEADLIGHTS H/L BEAMS, TAIL-LIGHTS AND BRAKING WORK. DIRECTIONALS ARE THERE JUST NOT WIRED
DOOR HANDLES AND TAILIGHT CHROME IS ORIGINAL AND NOT SHOW QUALITY.
THE ENGINE HAS
ALWAYS BEEN STRONG AND HAS A "WICKED" SOUND. I HAVE ALWAYS "BABY"IED IT ON THE STREET . (I DO MY RACING ON THE TRACK WITH MY BLOWN WILLYS)
THE CAR ON THE STREET HAS NOTHING TO PROVE TO ONLOOKERS... THE SIGHT AND SOUND TELL THE STORY.
