1956 Chevrolet Other Pickups 3100

Early in the 50's Chevrolet's trucks were called the Chevrolet Task Force. They were Chevrolet's successor to the Advance Design trucks. The Task Force Series ran from late 1955 (second series) through 1959. At GMC locations it was called the Blue Chip Series. The 1955 second series offered standard options and add-ons such as 12-volt electrical systems the first V8 (the 265 cubic inch) and fleet-side six- seven- and eight-foot length beds. In 1956 they had a wider hood emblem two-piece fender emblems that were mounted above horizontal fender line and it was the last year for egg crate grille. With the exception of a few minor trim items 1956 Chevrolet trucks remained the same as 1955 models. Base price was $2150 while a standard half-ton pickup listed at $1670. Cameo truck production for 1956 was 1452. What we would like to show you at Skyway Classics is a restored and modified version of those trucks.
