1954 Chevrolet Other Pickups

With more substance and power than the models it followed, the Chevrolet 3100 series ushered in a chapter of post WWII automotive styling that hit its mark so effectively it remained relatively unchanged during its 8-year reign as Chevy's signature light duty truck. Fresh off a rebuild, intelligently equipped and sporting flashy good looks that are sure to make it stand out in a crowd, this 1954 Chevrolet 1/2 ton pickup provides a great combination of visual impact and a comfortable, enjoyable driving experience.
It's easy to see why this model was so appealing from the time it was first offered. With its strong, beefy countenance up front, it conveys an unmistakable message of capability and ruggedness. Cloaked in an eye-catching metallic green exterior that also encompasses its expansive front grille and running boards, this Chevy just makes you look. There's plenty of shiny, clean chrome intact to accent the paint job and pigmented front end, as the bumpers both fore and aft - as well as the light bezels and badging - are in fine shape. The 1954 3100s hold the distinction of being the first of their kind with no center partition in the windshield, instead featuring one curved piece of glass, and this Chevy represents that design change well with very clear and unblemished glass up front and a fresh looking black seal around its perimeter. It sits with a slightly inclined stance that complements its flashy exterior but stops far short of interfering with its roadworthiness.
Inside the cab, you'll find an impressive and well-crafted tan interior. The bench seat has been skillfully updated, sporting a very plush looking and detailed appearance that also features a very functional center console and modern-style headrests. Just in front of the Grant GT steering wheel, you'll find a set of aftermarket Dolphin gauges that look right at home amid the expanse of green dash painted to match the exterior. Their faces feature an off-white color that gives them a sort of parchment look and, combined with the classic font used, make them a great choice for a vehicle of this era. On both sides, the matching tan door panels sit nice and flush against their surrounding green metal. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD sits at the ready to provide your soundtrack while out on the road, pumping out music via a set of matching Pioneer speakers skillfully mounted in each of the door pillars.
A mid-70's era Chevy 350V8 now sits in the engine compartment in place of the inline 6 this 3100 started life with and, topped with a Holley 4 barrel carb that sits atop an aluminium intake, provides infinitely more power than its predecessor. The engine starts right up and runs smoothly, emoting with a convincing, throaty tone through the dual exhaust. Mated with a modern 5 speed manual overdrive transmission, this is a drivetrain well-suited to driving in any conditions you might encounter. Equipped with power steering and sporting a respectable turning radius, this pickup is plenty maneuverable, so you'll actually ENJOY driving it and, with power brakes all the way around discs in front stopping is a relatively effortless proposition. Looking underneath, you'll see that the undercarriage remains nice and straight. This vintage classic sits on a set of 15" American Racing rims, wrapped with Goodyear General tires.
