1982 Chevrolet Corvette Base

  • 1982 Chevrolet Corvette

Super nice & unmolested '82 Corvette. I purchased this car from the second owner, who had owned it since 1987. Car was stored in a climate controlled garage & was dealer serviced when the second owner had it. Car has a good detailed service history on Carfax from 1992-2003. Biggest highlights on the history are that the ECM was replaced @ 97k miles & the heater core was replaced @ 101k miles. Owner parked the car around 2004-2005 & left it in the garage until I bought it earlier this year. I have the original owner's manual & t-top bags. I have receipts for most all the parts I have replaced & if you read the detailed description it should answer most questions. If you still have a question feel free to email me, be sure your email registered with ebay is the one you check or you will not receive my reply though. Anyone is welcome to come see the car &/or have the car inspected during the auction.

Options-

Power Windows- Power Door Locks- Power Sport Mirrors- Power Seat- Glass Roof Panels-Rear Window Defogger- Two Tone Paint- Cruise Control- Aluminum Wheels- AM/FM Stereo with Cassette- Power Antenna- Heavy Duty Cooling

Exterior-

Original color Silver/ Dark Claret (burgundy) 2 tone paint with stripes- I honestly think the Claret is original but I think the silver may have been resprayed @ some point. Paint still shines excellent but is not national show car perfect by no means. It would be hard to justify repainting the car but it does have a few nicks & chips that have been touched up. Exterior emblems are in great original shape as is the glass. Mirror t-tops are excellent with no cracks. Body lines on the car look great & the headlight system functions as it should. I replaced the headlight switch & actuator seals. New complete weatherstrip kit installed which includes both doors, both t-tops, A pillars & B pillars. Front lower spoiler was also replaced.

Interior-

All original dark red interior. Leather seats & steering wheel are still in great shape & show very well. Carpet in great shape with no damage. No cracks in the dash. Original stereo still works fine but the display does not always work. All dash lights function as they should. Power driver seat still works in all directions. Gauges all work except for the fuel gauge. It comes & goes. All interior courtesy lights work & the delay timer still functions. Cruise control has not worked since I've owned it.

Drivetrain-

All original L83 350 motor & 700R automatic transmission. Motor runs & transmission shift as it should. Crossfire is all intact & all the smog controls are still functioning. Air conditioner was still holding freon when I purchased it. I have since added some freon & the compressor is engaging & it blows cool but not ice cold. Tires were replaced by the previous owner & look new. Since I purchased the car the following parts have been replaced.

New fuel pump & sending unit

New battery

New fuel injectors

New MAP sensor

New coolant temperature sensor

New spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor button

New fuel filter

New air filters

New brakes (all 4 calipers w/new pads & front hoses)

Other-

Car is an excellent example of a C3 that has not been restored. Runs & drives as well as any original C3 I've been in. Crossfire cars are a little moody when cold but so far it chokes up good & then the idle settles down once it's warmed up. Car is not new & is not a time capsule with ultra low miles but is a great driver & would be great for local shows or a cruise in. Car has not leaked anything on my garage floor, which really surprises me because it's an old car. NADA Guides shows the low retail as $11050. My reserve is well below that.

Known issues-

Cruise control & horn do not work. AC blows cool but not ice cold. Sometimes the check engine light will come on when driving. It usually goes back off in a mile or 2. Hasn't affected the drivability with me. Fuel gauge doesn't work most of the time.
