1928 Chevrolet National --

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this near museum quality and strong running 1928 Chevrolet National. 1928 National displayed a longer and straighter hood flowing fender lines lower profile and smoothly integrated body panels. That longer hood was no styling frivolity; it was necessary to accommodate the six-cylinder engine that was soon to come. Meanwhile the old reliable 171-cubic-inch four-cylinder engine gained higher compression larger valves aluminum pistons and a revised carburetor... for a final breath of life and a rating of 35 horsepower at 2200 rpm. The original engine was rebuilt with new rings and valves and the transmission was rebuilt as well. The engine fires up with ease and runs very well. It is mated to a 3 speed manual transmission. This car does down the road like a dream. The brakes were also relined. The car was given an electric fuel pump. This beautiful car was restored very meticulously and is one of nicest early Chevrolet's we have seen on our floor. The car has been in Michigan for most if not all of its life. The Blue paint on the body and black fenders complement each other well. The '28 National rides on whitewall tires. It still retains its original tool kit including the grease gun for the fittings and the tire remover crank. The tan leather interior is in immaculate shape as well. The speedometer even works. It has as rear mounted spare tire as well. The windshield can go up or down with the turn of a crank allowing airflow into the cabin. The gas tanks on the Chevrolet's are mounted on the rear which make it easier to fill up than Ford's Model A. This is an excellent vehicle for any collection and a must-see within our gallery call or email us today for a closer look at automotive history at its best!
