1969 Chevrolet Camaro

A friend/customer asked me to build this car about 2 yrs. ago. I am restoring a Black Big Block Highlander and a 70 Z-28 for him now and he needs some space for them. He has asked me to list this one for him.We started with a super nice 2001 Corvette. I completely removed the body, grafted the windshield frame, door jams and rear interstructure from a 69 Firebird convertible onto the Vette. Ordered up a new power top frame, pump, hoses and rams and installed them. All new steel body panels were then custom grafted onto the Vette. Cowl hood, header panel, fenders, doors, quarters, tail panel, decklid, spoiler, etc. To achieve access to the Vette location of the battery, computer, fuse panel, etc. I opted to fabricate a tilt front end. All front end panels were welded together with spacers to keep the orginal hood lines. Electric actuators from Progressive Automations along with a remote control module activated with a key fob were intergrated. A video of the car running and the tilt front end in motion is available on Youtube. Just type in 1969 Cormaro. Please excuse the wind noise. The cowl panel and rear of the fenders were modified to allow clearance of the Vette wiper system. All body work was completed and basecoat/clearcoat applied, then color sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. The Vette gas door and door handles were incorporated and the side markers were customized to the oval shape. New hideaways were installed with an electronic opening and closing system along with halogen/LED halo headlights, LED tail lights and LED side markers. 2014 Camaro door mirrors were grafted on. The gas door operates with the original button inside the console along with original cable pull inside the trunk. The decklid operates with the original rear hatch button on the dash along with a cable under the rear bumper. All new smoked glass was installed along with power windows. It then went to the upholstery shop where new seat covers, carpet and custom door panels featuring built in LED lighting and speakers were installed. Custom carpeted panels were installed in the trunk. New tops are not available with smoked rear curtains, so the upholstery shop cut out the clear curtain, sewed in smoked plastic and installed it with new pads, well liner and side cables. All new weather stripping was installed . The car is still titled as a 2001 Corvette. It runs, drives and handles just as a Vette should along with all the Vette interior luxury aminities. The car is 100% turnkey, ready to go anywhere. It was driven about 9 hours round trip to the Memphis Super Chevy last year and was the center of attention. The owner has a little room on the price and will accept a reasonable offer. We can work with you on pick up times and can accomodate any type transport you may send. Please ask any and all questions you may have. Thank you.
