1968 Chevrolet Camaro

I'll get right to the point: this 1968 Camaro is a real-deal RS/SS 396 convertible loaded with options like factory A/C. It was treated to a high-quality restoration a few years ago and still looks spectacular, so if you're looking for a fantastic F-body that isn't like everyone else's, this Lemans Blue ragtop is a smart choice.Finding a car like this intact is a rare thing. Big block cars were usually built with just one thing in mind, but given this car's long list of options and exceptional condition, it seems to have escaped the fate that befell most of its siblings. It has been beautifully refinished in correct code U Lemans Blue with a white SS stripe around the nose. The result is not quite subtle, but if you're a Camaro guy, you spot things like the 396 badges on the front fenders, the blacked-out grille, and the stock hood with faux velocity stacks and you know this is something special. And how slick does it look without a rear spoiler? Awesome! Fit and finish are excellent and despite being finished in the '90s, it's still in incredible condition. Look closely and note proper RS hidden headlights that are still vacuum-actuated and work properly, a correctly-placed Camaro emblem on the trunk lid, and the beautifully restored bumpers that add a little sparkle to this gorgeous ragtop. Yes, this car is definitely out-of-the-ordinary and it shows. The matching blue interior is loaded up as more luxury car than street brawler, which is probably why it survived. Long-term ownership history is known, including a stint in a museum, and given the deluxe interior, cold A/C, tilt steering column, center console with auxiliary gauges, and automatic transmission, it's clear that this car was built to someone's very specific tastes. Everything inside has been restored to a very high level, and I don't think I've ever seen seat covers with as much detail as those in this car. The woodgrained dash appliques are vivid, the gauges have bright faces and crisp markings, and it hasn't been over-dressed with aftermarket gauges or a fake wood wheel, which is always refreshing. Even the original AM/FM radio remains in the dash. Overhead, there's a crisp white top that folds easily and the trunk has been detailed for show with a full-sized spare, new mat, and complete jack setup.Still carrying its original emissions equipment (holy smokes!), the date-code-correct L35 396 cubic inch V8 was rated at 325 horsepower, which is enough to make this lightweight convertible insanely fast on the street. It was rebuilt to stock specs and detailed to compete on the show field with correct Chevy Orange paint and all its original hardware. Accurate finishes were used throughout, including the chrome valve covers and air cleaner, which wears a reproduction decal. A TH400 3-speed automatic transmission spins a 12-bolt rear, all of which were included with the big block V8 for durability's sake. It's as highly detailed underneath as it is everywhere else, including spotless floors, a correct exhaust system with transverse muffler, spiral shocks, and correct finishes on all the suspension components. The look is finished with a set of factory Rally wheels and BFG radials.Nicely documented with Protect-O-Plate, restoration receipts and photos, and the owner's manual, this is an incredible early Camaro that will stand out anywhere.
