Engine Information:
  • The block is the factory original block with casting number 3902406 which is correct for mid year 1967 Chevelle 396s. The deck still retains its original stamping which reads T0427ED 7B181937. This decodes to Tonawanda Engine Plant (T) assembled April 27th (0427) with 325hp (ED) 7 (1967 Model Year) B (Baltimore Plant) 181937 (Production Number). The heads have casting numbers of 3908802 and dates of C21 7 and C29 7. The dates decode to March 21st and March 29th 1967. The intake has a casting number of 3883948 with a casting date code of A 9 7 which decodes to January 9th, 1967. All of this is correct for a 1967 Chevelle. The manifolds are supposed to be original, but I cant find pictures of the dates on them.
Transmission Information:
  • The transmission is the original M20 Muncie 4 Speed. Baltimore built cars, unlike Atlanta built cars, had the CONVIN stamped on the top of the transmission. This "CONVIN" is a way to identify the drivetrain to the original car it came out of. Stamped on top of this transmission is 7B181937. This is the same CONVIN found on the engine deck stamp. This of course shows 1967, Baltimore Plant, 181937 (production number). The stamped code on the side of the transmission is P7D04 which decodes to Muncie year model 1967 April 4th. This lines up with the car perfectly and is 100% original to the car.

Differential Information:
  • CI 0407B E
  • This decodes to 3.73 ratio (CI) Installed April 7th (0407) from the Buffalo, NY plant (B) with an Eaton Positive Traction unit (E).

Brief History and Background Information:
  • This Chevelle has spent most of its life in a heated garage. All of the body panels are said to be original. I have verified the floors, trunk, quarters, hood, and fenders to be original. I never took the door panels off to verify the doors, but they are for sure GM and correct. The story goes that the car sat on the dealership lot for a while with a complete gold body from top to bottom before the original dealer decided to add the vinyl top to help the car sell. The vinyl top was on the car when sold new. To sum up this Chevelle, it is an all original car including sheet metal, original drive train, and its original interior.

Included with Chevelle:
** New felt and rubber seals for windows, new breather (chrome), new carpet, trunk mat and floor mats, and new spare. New parts have not been installed to keep car original.
