Description:

1963 Chevrolet Nova Super Sport

For sale is a 1963 Chevy II Nova SS 400 L6 2 Door Coupe. The vehicle is a genuine SS survivor with extensively rebuilt mechanicals to make it a very functional vehicle. The Nova was built in Kansas City during the first week of August 1963 and was sequence number 14148. Trim 775 indicates red vinyl bucket seats and Z03 denotes a Super Sport for the Kansas City plant. All SS equipment is intact. The car was originally Ermine white but was repainted red some time ago and has a nice patina. It is an incredibly nice driver quality car that shows it's originally which really gives the vehicle character. It turns heads everywhere it goes and gets a lot of compliments for it's originality and original styleinline sixvs. a V8.
This Nova features a freshly rebuilt, highly detailed, and documented194 CI straight six engine with a 40 overbore and a three on the tree. All receipts will be included with the sale. The engine rebuild featured all new bearings, pistons, cam, valves, springs, hardened valve seats, timing gears and a new harmonic balancer. It is equipped with a new fuel pump, carburetor, battery and cables, alternator, distributor, voltage regulator, horn relay, plugs, wires, condenser, motor mounts, muffler and exhaust. The cooling system was refurbished with a new brass radiator, hoses, heater core and thermostat. The Nova has all new brakes with new wheels cylinders and brake lines. The suspension was refurbished with new inner and outer tie rods, a new pitman arm, and new idler arms bushings. The intent of the rebuild was to make the car fully mechanically functional and reliable while maintaining the original appearance of the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The engine in the vehicle is not the original block but the original block will be included with sale and has a crack but could be repaired if the new owner desires matching numbers. The only mechanical issues of note are that the front right brake sometimes sticks the first few times you push the pedal when driving the car and the water temp, gas, and voltage gauges don't work. The engine also does not have a dipstick as the later block installed in the car has a different mounting location that is too close to the firewall for a dipstick.
There are a various dents and dings on thebody and trimgiven the age of the paint and the fact that I don't think the car has ever been fully restored. Thebody is in very good condition overalland presents well. There is a small rust spot behind the rear passenger wheel which can be seen in the pictures. The trunk panel was somewhat crudely repaired before my ownership so It is painted and presentable on the outside but the inside shows some rust through the metal. There are a few bubbles starting to pop up on the rear fender lips and the passenger seat channel is rusted through but does not impact the integrity of the seat mount.
The interior is in great original condition with the only major flaws being a rip in the top of the drivers seat and some deterioration on the rear deck panel.Much of the weather stripping is deteriorating so if you desire this to be an all weather car it will need to be replaced.
I am selling this vehicle for my father who lives in Michigan so the car will have a free, clear, and clean Michigan title upon purchase. Mileage on the odometer shows 48,867 but I am not sure if that is actual. The vehicle is currently located in Bethlehem, PA.
