1973 Chevrolet Corvette L48

This car has been in my life since new. I'll explain before I describe the vehicle. In 1973 I went to East Point Chevrolet In Georgia with the fellow who bought it. At the time we had been friends for about four years. Over the next forty years he became my best friend as we had many things in common. In 1985 he was a junior airline pilot and rarely drove the car because he was out of town so often. It was sitting in his garage and the original orange paint was just dull and the top had dry rotted from lack of use. I suggested he sell the car to me and he did with a promise that I would sell it back to him if I ever wanted to sell it. So, bought it and had it taken apart for a fresh red paint job and installed a new top. In 1990 I was transferred in my job to a location that I could not take the car. I offered it back to my friend and he bought it back from me. He retired from Northwest as a B747-400 Captain in 2002. The same year he developed prostrate cancer which he fought unsuccessfully until 2010 when he passed away or as they say about pilots "Flew West". He willed the car to me and I have owned it since.
After I inherited the car I had it professionally repainted with clear coat (which didn'texistin 1985) and had an old corvette mechanic go through it. He installed new shocks and various rubber items (he was told to just fix anything he thought was appropriate) and since the radio had given up the ghost he installed a new one ( made for Corvette) radio with 4 upgraded speakers. I then had a new top installed. Needless to say this is a matching numbers car with a few minor blemishes. The car is very reliable, oes not leak, nd I would not be afraid to take a trip in it. I had the A/C upgraded to R4 to comply with the bastards in Washington. I also have the original ignition chrome. As you may have figured out I'm getting along in years and the car is just too low for my bad back to get in and out of. That's why I'm amreluctantlyselling it. Anyquestionswelcome!
