1951 Chevrolet convertible Deluxe

This is an extremely original 1951 Chevrolet convertible for sale by owner. I purchased this car in 1981. I believe I am the second owner.
This is a rare car and unfortunately most of these early '50s Chevy convertibles have been hot-rodded and altered with V-8 engines, floor shifters, modern interiors, incorrect paint, wheels, trim and accessories. This vehicle is stock and original except for a replacement 1953 Powerglide transmission which was installed over 60 years ago and rebuilt in 2004 at 75,400 miles. This 1953 transmission is a big improvement over the original 1951 unit sinceit automatically shifts gears from low to high. The transmission operates perfectly with no issues but it does have some minor leaks. A complete seal and filter kit comes with the car.
The car has been repainted only once in 1982. It was completely stripped to bare metal and repainted with the original DUCO nitrocellulose lacquer in the original 447 Trophy Blue Metallic. The paint is now just beginning to check and delaminate over the areas where original lead filler was used. It is still quite presentable but some touch up might be considered.
The body has never been removed from the frame. The exterior body panels had only minor rust issues when the car was painted but the floors were rusty and replaced with galvinized steel. These floors are now reproduced by Chev's of the 40's if you elect to replace them. The trunk has no rust issues. The X-shaped frame is massive and is in perfect shape. The inner fenders are very good.
The interior door panels and rear passenger interior panels are original and in good condition. The original dark blue leather seat covers are covered by a set of original GM accessory fiber seat covers. A complete extra set of NOS seat covers will come with the car. The rubber floor mats are correct NOS mats. A new convertible top well liner kit from Hampton Coach was installed last year.
Mechanically the car is excellent. The engine starts and runs perfectly. It is smooth, quiet and has no smoke and burns no oil. Oil pressure is excellent. The brakes are rebuilt and work fine. The radiator was recored about 7 years ago. The car has never overheated. The shocks and springs are fine. The front end was partially rebuilt with a major kit from Kanter Automotive about 3 years ago. Also, the front stabilizer links and bushings were replaced at that time.
The tires are fairly old but they have no cracks or any damage and ride beautifully. Never any air loss problems. They are the correct 710 x 15 size for the convertible model. They have less than 500 miles on them.
Everything works on the car: all gauges, heater, radio, lights, horn, emergency brake, hydraulic power top, directionals, clock, and all locks. All windows operate perfectly. New battery installed June 2017.
The trunk mat is factory original and perfect. The jack and handle are unused factory original with the instruction tag still attached. The car comes with the two original factory keys #8979 GM Briggs and Stratton Milwaukee. The knock-outs have never been removed from the keys. The top is excellent in the original correct tan Haartz cloth. The fender skirts are NOS GM factory (not reproductions). These is also an extra painted NOS skirt included with the car. Included is an original 1951 sales brochure, 1951 accessory brochure, 1951 accessory price list, owner's manual, break-in running instructions card, parts manual and a reprint of the shop manual.
The car has virtually every factory accessory offered in 1951. None of these accessories are reproductions. All are factory original.
