It was built at the St. Louis plant. It was deliverd to Lynn Layton Chevrolet in Decatur Alabama. Early on the motor developed some problems and was replaced with a gm replacement motor. The most recent owner was tired of looking for 102 octane fuel and being limited as to where he could drive it, he won world of wheels a couple times and several car shows. It was December 2015 and it started making a lot of lifter noise, it was torn down and the cam had a flat lobe, a result of not using oil with added zinc. He took it to bell auto for a rebuild, he wanted to make it run on premium pump gas, they decided on a 7.4 liter fourbolt main block, flat top pistons fly cut for valve clearance, 68-70 corvette 427 heads with hardend seats, hydraulic cam with a good sound and power. The m20 4 speed was rebuilt earlier with new bearings and seals. The rear end has a 3:08 posi-trac ratio for high way cruising, rebuilt with new u joints and bearings.
The a/c has been converted to the modern refrigerant. The brake calipers are stainless steel also has new rotors, wheels bearings and bushings. We have 9 folders of receipts for various things done to the car by its previous owner. It has a black Harrison aluminum radiator 4 core heavy duty. This car can be driven anywhere, it was recently driven from Alabama to Florida. It's a real pleasure to drive, has cold a/c makes good power, runs on premium pump gas, has amazing power disc brakes.
