Description:

1968 Chevrolet Camaro

Simply put, a great running and driving convertible! I have maintained this nice Camaro for a friend for the past 19 years. He is moving and has asked me to sell this very nice car for him as I probably know his car better than he does!
Details are as follows...
This car was built in October of 1967 and has been garage kept for most of it's life. The car originated in Tennessee and has had 4 owners over it's lifetime. This car still retains all it;s GM body sheet-metal, floors, trunk etc. with the exception of a passenger side quarter and a cowl hood installed upon my friends purchase almost 20 years ago. This car retained it's original Matador red paint until 1998 when the 1/4 panel and hood were replaced. A GM spoiler was also added This car has no rot repairs. The floors still retain their red oxide primer and dealer applied undercoating! Paint condition is an 8 out of 10 showing only a few paint nicks and scratches from normal use and age.In my opinion, this car does not need paint to be used as a great driver or local car show display.
Drivetrain details...
In 1998 the original 327 engine was rebuilt. Fuelie heads, 4BBL intake, 4BBL carburetor, headers, HEI ignition and a 1972 TH-350 automatic were added. Owner kept the original engine components and PG transmission. They come with the car if desired to keep it all original.
The car still still retains it's original colors and options as follows...
Matador red, black convertible top, red standard interior. Power steering, manual drum brakes (all new), factory AM push button radio, tilt column, factory console with floor shift and forward mounted clock (restored original movement), power convertible top, fold down rear seat, under-dash lighting, deluxe steering wheel (original w/no cracks). 3.08 limited slip (posi) 10 bolt rear. XG coded 14 X 6 disc brake rally wheels were on car when purchased in 1998 and wheels have gorgeous GM trim rings and original center caps. I believe this car would have originally had plain wheels with hubcaps. Has the original GM stainless door and 1/4 panel trim also. All dash lighting, fuel gauge, speedometer, radio, original red seat belts, heater, horn, console light, clock light and wipers work including back-up lights, brake lights etc...All 4 counterweights [cocktail shakers] are present with no evidence of rot. This pretty convertible has never had a frame off restoration. All body to frame mounts are excellent.
There are some nice rare options on this car! This car is one that can be enjoyed for years to come!
