1974 Chevrolet Blazer Scottsdale

I have reached the heart-breaking decision to sell my 74 K5 Blazer. I purchased the vehicle from a neighbor after it had been sitting for 8yrs. After evicting the family of cats that had been keeping the mice from destroying the truck from the inside out I stripped all the existing seats (non-factory original) and disgusting carpet. Since I live in Arizona I had no intention of ever putting the top back on the truck, so I purchased indoor/outdoor carpeting to replace the factory rug. After stripping the original carpet, I was pleased to find the factory floor pan 100% intact!0 rust!!!!in the floor pan. After fitting the carpet, I sourced leather seats from an 06 Tahoe and a third-row seat from a Suburban. The electric Tahoe seats work, I have not wired them in, but have tested them. All seats were installed using factory mounting points. The truck has no new holes drilled or anything welded to mount the seats. To get the truck running I felt it would save me a lot of time and frustration if I replaced the entire fuel system, so that is exactly what I did. I replaced every part of the fuel system from the tank to the carb except for the factory hard lines. I even had professional help. (see pictures) Once I got it running, the big block wanted to run hot so I chased out everything from scale deposits, which prompted a radiator change-out to a upper radiator hose from god knows what and a thermostat. After I got the motor happy we took it for a road test. That's when I discovered 8yr old Goodyear's aren't the best for ride quality and that 40yr old GM steering components need love too. I took it in and had new 33in BFG TAs installed, then took it for an alignment and inspection only to find that the steering box and adjustable drag link needed replacement. Once those were taken care of the truck ran like new! The previous owner explained that the 454 transplant was a fresh rebuild with a small cam and the trans was freshened up with a shift kit to boot. I have no reason to doubt what he says and the truck runs and drives great. Shifts firm in every gear. So why the painfully long diatribe? I wanted you to know this isn't some flip where I aired up the tires and polished the paint. I've thoroughly enjoyed getting this truck back on the road. It has passed Arizona emissions and is currently registered and makes regular runs to the grocery store and the ballpark. It still needs some love, but can be driven as is and gets comments everywhere I go, in fact, plan on an extra hour with your trips as everyone will want to talk to you about this awesome truck and the one they had/grew up in or rode in with their parents. I know you will not be disappointed with this truck.
