1972 Chevrolet Other Pickups

You are looking at a very nice, 1972 Chevrolet K20. (3/4-ton, 4X4)

It is a factory-spec'ed 292 CID L-6 truck...that actually still has the 292 in it. It has a four-speed manual transmission, the much desired NP205 transfer case, an Eaton HO52 rear axle, and a Dana 44 (8-lug) front axle.

This is a driver/survivor/barn find-quality truck. I found the truck on a house lot in Idaho. It was not running at the time that I purchased/rescued it, and the paint was atrocious. It now runs quite well, is a hoot to drive, and has had a professional exterior detail. I have two other older trucks that I drive. For the last eight months, this truck has been in the rotation, as I've been working-out some of the kinks. It is currently registered and inspected in the State of Texas. To the best of my knowledge, it has 126K miles.

It was repainted (and appears to have had some minor bodywork), at some point, prior to me acquiring it. The body is quite straight for the age of the truck. And, I rate the paint and bodywork a solid "6", or even a possible "7". Beyond that, I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
Here are the things that have been done to it, since I acquired it (to the best of my recollection)...
- Fresh oil (with zinc additive), oil filter, and air filter
- Transmission completely gone-through
- New rear u-joints
- Rear driveshaft true'd and balanced
- New rear pinion seal, cover gasket, and gear oil in rear differential
- New rear wheel cylinders, seals, and shoes
- New Monroe shocks on all four corners
- New fuel tank, sending unit, fuel pump, and fuel filter
- Carburetor rebuilt with ethanol resistant accelerator pump
- New distributor vacuum advance and spark plugs
- New fan clutch, temperature gauge, and V-belt
- New battery, voltage regulator, and pigtail
- Period-correct hubcaps ("poverty caps") and fender emblems
- New upholstery on the bench seat
Thanks for looking!
