Description:

1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

I have been the owner of this Monte Carlo since 2006. I drove it as a daily driver until late 2007. I have been slowly restoring it. I would have loved to make it a daily driving hotrod. But as you can imagine a lot has changed in 10 years. I am at a point that I don't have to sell it but I cannot foresee when I will be able to finish it. It is a little dusty because I don't have a garage to park it in but it is a solid car. The car has been taken down to the bare bolts, it was all rebuilt with all new or like new salvaged parts over the last 9 years.
You can see it run on this youtube video I made.
YouTube Video 88 Monte Carlo SS - Under Construction update.
The frame and suspension components have been powder coated. The interior floor panels and under carriage have been covered with bed-liner. The originally large gas tank has been replaced by a much lighter fuel cell this allowed for the new concealed dual exhaust system. The battery connection has been moved to the truck of the car.
All new motor, electrical, exhaust, fuel components: The original 305 motor has been replaced by a re-machined 350 small block bored .30 over. It has re-machined original 305 Vortec heads for higher compression. Current motor has just over 500 miles on it. It has been upgraded to an electric fuel pump. It also has a new rebuilt 350 turbo transmission in it.
Few Highlights: Heat and sound barrier applied under the new carpet, new racing front seats, new "Dukes of Hazzard Horn system", new weather stripping, has a new security system, keyless trunk access, new rims and tires (I also have the original mag rims) and B&M shifter.
Items to be finished:
•Needs the interior trim and upholstery finished as well as the trunk. I have many original trim parts.
•Some of the lights need rewiring
•Driver door only opens from the inside.
•Needs a new A/C and heater system. I have the original vent system.
•Needs the body to be sanded and painted
I know every bolt on this car so ask any questions you might have when considering to purchase it.
