Description:

1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

I purchased this 1972 Corvette Stingray and the story I was given and found to be as accurate as we could verify by past owners and dealerships that held and sold for those past owners
  • This is as close to a real survivor as you can get. 2 owner vehicle originally sold in Chicago Ill. and held until 2013 where as a dealership called Corvette Mike's sold this Corvette on consignment for the 1st owner to the current second owner

Corvette Mike's represented this car as an original owner 38,000 mile vehicle. We do have the copies of that original sale transaction.
The second owner had this shipped to Upstate NY Wine Region as he is an owner of a well known winery in this area. As the 1st owner did (shown by the condition of the vehicle) this was stored inside a dry and heated garage most of it's life.
The second owner purchases many classic cars from our dealership and this Corvette was traded in on a 1970 Chevelle LS5 big block and we are now selling to complete our sale.
42,000 mileage cars are hard to find especially when they are 1972 Corvette T-Top cars. The underside and frame of this car are beautiful, rust free and damage free. The interior is very well preserved and as near as I can tell completely original except the addition of the factory fitting/looking cassette player that was carefully installed in the factory radio slot.
The body of this sweet car was at some point repainted in the original color and it does retain the original and very rare Briar Blue paint and was obviously painted by a professional. All original panels and bonding strips and no major damage was found. We did find repairs to the lower valance under the front bumper that shows minor signs of repair but is only noticeable when pointed out to someone
Mechanically this Stingray is very sound, very quiet, no leakage, no smoking issues and super strong oil pressure. We tested the compression and found it to be very high and with this and other signs can assure you that the 42,000 miles is original and actual and the fact that it retains all of the factory matching numbers components from the 350 engine to the rear differential. The original bias ply tire from factory is still in the spare position and never down which alone is rare.I have personally driven this car 400 miles and it is a real surprise on how smooth, quiet and effortless this is to drive and handle.
