This Corvette has a documented racing history dating back to the late ‘50s and early 60’s. It was raced prepared and raced at Riverside and Willow Springs by its original owner, ohn Kilgore of Santa Monica, A and the second owner Normand Jessel of Malibu, A. Documentation includes a professional history search by Reisner Group, nc, letter from Mr. Kilgore, nd several period photos supplied by him. It was retired in the late ‘60s and sat until 1986 when we bought and restored it.

This is an extremely successful vintage race car which we have campaigned since 1987. It is without a doubt the most successful “solid axle” Corvette currently racing on the West Coast. It has many race wins to its credit at Laguna Seca, ears Point and Coronado. Most recently it had race wins at the Sonoma Historics in 2013 and 2014. It won its class championship with VARA in 2012 and 2013 and was overall VARA points champion in 2013. It won the Chopard Award for best presentation and performance in its race group at Monterey in 1996. Other awards include the trophy for Best Performance and Presentation, roup IV, ine Country Classic 1995, resident’s Trophy, oronado 2008 and its share of the Motul Sportsmanshp Award presented to our team at the HSR-West Fontana Historic Festival, 008 and the Driven to Excellence Award, oronado 2011.

The Corvette has been maintained and race prepared by J & D Corvette in Bellflower, A since 1990.

The Corvette has correct 283 ci engine with all top quality internal parts designed for reliability as well as performance. The cam is chosen to be compatible with the stock type stamped steel rocker arms which some racing groups require. It has a race prepared factory Rochester fuel injection unit. It has correct Corvette heavy duty drum brakes. It has Doug Holmberg custom headers and exhaust system including Laguna Seca legal Flowmaster mufflers which can quickly and easily replace the straight tailpipes when needed. It has a Ron Davis aluminum radiator. It has a lightweight McLeod racing clutch and a proper Chevrolet 4 speed close ratio gearbox. The car will come with 4 race prepared positraction rear end center sections with 4:56, :11, :70 and 3:36 ratios. These are reinforced with the no longer available Henry’s billet bearing caps which prevent the common breakage issues with the stock caps. It has a VARA legal bladder type fuel cell and a foam type on board fire system. It has 2 sets of Halibrand alloy wheels with mounted Monterey/Sonoma correct Hoosier tires.

The car will come with a pit display board showing its history, any race result sheets and, f desired with extensive scrapbooks documenting its restoration and long vintage racing career.
