1966 Chevrolet Impala Caprice

This is a virtuallyuntouched and complete1966 Caprice 396 L35 325hp 4bblBig Block car from the Wyoming/South Dakota Border area that is a virtualtime machine. Theengine was rebuilt at 50,000 miles as the original owner hadan auto repair shop and enjoyedthe project.The engine is complete right down to the factory recall cable tie downs (motor mount recall) withthe spark plug shields still intact. Frame is rust free (a very vulnerable spot on these cars) and the body has very minor rust in the rear quarters.If thisis your favorite model car you would be hard pressed to find a base example as complete andintactas this is.You couldn't pick abetter foundation for a restoration project or use as is as I'm doing. It always attractsattentionin parking lots when out and about. Don't drive this car to places likeHome Depot if you are in a hurry as there is always someone standing by the car when you come out wanting to talk about it.The Patina isamazing as the original red is sun burnt to the core. The carruns smooth and quiet and is a pleasure to drive. Brakes work as they did when the car was brand new. The 396L35throws that big vehicle around like a pit bull would a rag doll and has an idle so smooth you think the engine died when sitting at a stop light.It has a turbo 400 automatic with a 12 bolt open rear end (could have used a posi). These big block full size vehicle values are on the rise (reference Hagerty Value Guide) especially with the Chevelle prices climbing out of reach for the average enthusiast. Don't mind not selling but have another prospect I'm interested in should this beauty find a new home. Do have an original antenna for the car. Also the windshield is cracked (does not show up in the pictures). Vehicle is for sale locally also so reserve the right to end listing early. Pay Pal deposit of $500.00 due in 24 hours.
