1970 Corvette Convertible Pro-Touring

Description:

1970 Chevrolet Corvette

Justboughta 63 SWC for my next project; so I'm selling my '70 convertible pro-touring to make room. Build was completed in early 2014, and it's got less than 900 miles on it now. The pictures only show itwith the top down, but it does have a nice, blackstay-fast canvas soft-top. Everything on this car is well engineered and top quality. This is not some cheap LS swap; sobid accordingly.
- Body mods include very subtle 2" flares in the back, a custom C6 script molded into the rear panel, and C6 side mirrors. (If the rear flares look like they were made to fit perfectly around the rear tire, it's because they were. You may see other cars with the same 2" flares, but this car was the prototype.)Everything was done to accentuate the lines of the car andnotclutterup the appearance with silly add-ons.
- Pyrite Mica paint color with satin clear coat
- Bumpers and wheels painted to match in Silver Pearl with satin clear coat
- LS6 engine with just over 40K miles; stock tune; no mods (This is probably the most reliable performance enginein the entire LS/LT lineup.)
- Custom-built aluminum radiator (biggest one I've ever seen in a Corvette) with dual electric fans. This car will not go over 190 deg, even on the hottest TX summer day with the AC on.
- Mid-length coated headers and MagnaFlow stainless exhaust (nice deep tone but not obnoxious)
- T56 6-speed manual transmission
- Super 10-bolt differential with 3.73:1 gears built by Gary Ramadei with 3" half-shafts (See description below of what a "Super 10-bolt" is.)
- VB&P Performance Plus suspension package all around (handles very well)
- OEM brake rotors & calipers with Wilwood master cylinder and Hydroboost
- 2001 C5 Z06 Alcoa forged wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires (265 front/295 rear)
- Power rack & pinion steering
- Vintage Air AC system
- Dakota Digital gauges (Composite gauges put the fuel, oil pressure, temp and volts all up in the main gauge pods)
- C5 sport seats with all of the electrical adjustments
- InfinityBox (formerly known as ISIS) electrical system
- All vacuum controlled features eliminated and replaced with electrical actuation
For those not familiar with a "Super 10-bolt", it's a Corvette IRS differential with a polished case, 12-bolt spider gears and cross shaft, 31 spline stub-axles, steel cap on driver's side, a ton of machining to make it all fit and work properly, and the best of everything when it comes to the quality of the parts used. It's properly tuned using steel clutches, not the composite "snowflake" clutches and springs used at the factory to compensate for the fact that they didn't actually take the time to set it up correctly. The differential has always been the Achilles' heel of these C2/C3 Corvettes, but this one is good for up to 700HP and all the beatings you want to give it with street tires. If you want to run more power than thatand/or drag slicks, you should really get a car with a solid axle and not a Corvette.
