Description:

1966 Chevrolet Corvette 2 door

This is NOT NUMBERS MATCHING. Car was originally a 427/425, but that engine is long gone. It had a correct 427/425 engine from 1966 when we purchased it. The engine serial number does not match the car VIN. This engine was rebuilt to factory specs. We tracked down all prior owners and have the car's history from new until now.
The car has been restored, body-off frame over the 22 years we have owned it.
  • 1996 Engine rebuilt to original specs, blueprinted and balanced by Booth Arons Racing Engines-Berkley, Michigan.
  • 1998 Body, paint and seat/carpet restoration by John's Corvette Care-Dearborn, Michigan
  • 2005 Chassis restoration by Master Works Automotive Services-Madison Heights,Michigan (NCRS Corvette Restorers)
  • 2008 Tremec 5 speed overdrive added
  • 2009 Moved to Florida from Michigan
  • 2015 Stainless steel side exhaust added
  • 2016 New Stainless steel brake calipers added
  • 2016 New bumpers added
  • 2016 New interior dash pads, door panels and headliner
  • The car was originally a no radio, no heater car.
  • A prior owner installed an aftermarket AM/FM cassette radio with rear manual antenna, all engine ignition shielding and all chassis grounds.
  • The radio was inoperable when we got the car, and is no longer installed, but the grounds, ignition shields and antenna remain.
  • Tires are H-speed rated (130 MPH) Michelin Pilot 225/70 R 15 with blue stripe sidewalls by Diamondback Classics. This is the widest tire of original diameter that fit the wheel well.
  • Car is driven, body is showing some stone chips from use.
  • We have put just under 11,000 miles on the car in the 22 years we have owned it.
We use the car for local cruises, car shows, and road trips (of up to 7 hours). It can be docile around town, cruise comfortably at 75-80 MPH on the highway (1900-2100 RPM in 5th gear), or be a "hammer car" if you are so inclined.
