Description:

1986 Chevrolet C-10 SILVERADO

It has a little over 42,000 original miles on it. It is a Silverado with electric windows, doors, etc. It was top of the line in 1986. It still has the original floor mats in it. It sat many years in Arkansas before my uncle passed away and I inherited it and drove to Tucson where it has stayed in my garage here. It has always been garaged. Sitting a long time is not good for a vehicle so I did a great deal of work on it to ensure that it was in top condition.
It was a 302 but while I had the engine apart I put in a box 350 new short block. So it is a 350 now but has all the original heads, intake manifold, carburetor etc. on it all reworked. The 350 block is simply a better engine with more torque and horsepower. I had a little problem with it vapor locking when the weather got hot last summer. I did a fair amount of research on the problem and talked with a number of mechanics. As a result I had large diameter dual exhausts installed in December before we left for the holidays. That was almost $700. The problem would not show up until it gets hot outside but I didn't want to sell a vehicle to someone with a problem I knew about. The belief was that with the 350 we needed to get rid of heat in the engine compartment faster and more efficiently. The engine did not overheat but the fuel line did. I think this will solve the problem and it sounds great! The only other little problem I know of is the cruise control. Going down the interstate in cruise it will occasionally disengage and immediately re-engage. Not a big problem but not perfect. I think it is a simple fix with a new controller and not expensive. I just haven't done it. This truck has the original paint. There has been no touch up whatsoever. There isabsolutelyno speck of rust. I have left the 3 final pictures to show the 3 small imperfections. 1. small crack on dash 2. smallscratch on driver door, no dent just small scratch. 3.small paint chips on rear driver side. Other than those 3 things thetruck is a cream puff. This could be a daily driver. I really want to keep it, but kids are starting studies at expensive colleges.
With that I don't know of anything else wrong with the truck. It would make a great truck tricked out or simply drive as it. It gets a lot of attention when your drive it around. You will NOT be disappointed.
