1983 Chevrolet Other Pickups

Recently bought this long bed truck but I need more interior space and something better on gas so its time for something else - great work truck. The truck is overall in good condition - there is very little rust for the age and the paint is in presentable condition. Some rust and the occasional spot of peeling paint but it was a California truck its whole life so frame and all that are not rusty. No major dents or body work required. Tool box with locking key included. Mechanically it has the common Small Block 350cid 5.7L V8 and a TH400 automatic transmission. Runs great. Mileage is under 130000 (exact mileage may be more than pictured since it's my daily driver). Completely stock. Not a 4x4. Not a diesel. Starts quickly idles well and sounds good for a truck this age. Barely audible ticking noise from engine - needs a valve adjustment? Since it passed smog it shouldn't matter. Just did lots of service and new parts (in no particular order)
  • -Passed smog (have paperwork)
  • -Coolant flush
  • -New thermostat and gasket
  • -Oil change and filter
  • -Four brand new tires from Cains Tire in San Rafael (have reciept)
  • -New battery
  • -New battery cable
  • -New starter
  • -New wiper blades
  • -New fuel filters
  • -Brake service (master cylinder replaced front brake lines replaced front calipers replaced front pads replaced rear drum brakes inspected with 90% life left apparently)
  • -Fresh tune up (spark plugs plug wires distributor cap rotor)
  • -Cleaned and adjusted carburetor
  • -Fixed electrical issues (gauges turn signals cig lighter 12v socket heater blinker etc. work fine)
  • -new high quality belts
  • -New valve cover gaskets and pcv grommet
  • -various other odds and ends are new
The truck does have its quirks after all it is more than thirty years old!
  • -Aftermarket RPM gauge on dash and aftermarket water gauge in gauge cluster improperly installed but works
  • -Front bumper could use a paint job
  • -Gear shift indicator doesn't line up easy to fix I just don't care!
  • -Horn button in steering wheel is not working so we rigged one up on the steering column
  • -radio not completely functional
  • -fuel gauge works intermittently. Occasionally the level seems accurate but usually it's wrong.
As you can tell the electrical system could use some help but the truck does run a drive fine. If it weren't for the poor fuel economy I wouldn't hesitate to drive this truck across the country. Light rust (see pictures) but frame is in good condition. Brakes are great. This "square body" truck is a California truck that's why it's in such good condition. Current registration smog and clean title in hand. The truck is currently my daily driver. I am in no hurry to sell so no low-ballers please. I'm not making any money by selling this - the truck just doesn't fit my needs and would be better off for a work truck for construction yard work or hauling.
