1958 Chevrolet Other Pickups cameo

This auction is for a rare original 1958 Chevrolet 3100 Cameo Pickup. Chevrolet only made 1,405 of these in 1958 and was the only year with duel headlights. The pickup was a field find where it had been for 30 years. I bought from the original owners son. The last picture that I posted is the truck as found. The picture was featured in the September 2013 issue of Hot Rod magazine on page 15 under Scene by Readers. The original color had been painted over in black. I wet sanded the thin paint job and what you see in the pictures is the original Tartan Turquoise and black. I have done 3 ground up restorations in my lifetime, but a this point in time I do not want to take this on. I'll try to describe what you see in the pictures. The front of the truck has a re-chromed bumper, which is peeling. The chrome grill is good, but with some dents. Both head light buckets have been rebuilt with new springs and adjusters. The headlights have new chrome bezels. The passenger side fender has a major dent in the middle. It is rusted out around the headlights and the bottom. The Apache trim is in good shape. The driver side fender is rusted out around the headlights and the bottom. The Apache trim is fair. The hood is very rusty, the Chevy emblem is good. The driver door is rusted out at the bottom. The outside mirror is missing. The vent glass is cracked. The door glass is good and rolls up & down. The stainless trim and rain vent are in good shape. The door handle works but is pitted. Interior door panel is rusted out. The passenger door is is rusted out at the bottom. The stainless trim is good. The vent glass is cracked. The window glass is good and rolls up & down. The door handles are pitted. The interior panel of the door is rusted out. The cab is in bad shape. The roof is bent, the windshield is cracked, etc. The stainless around the windshield is good. The stainless around the back glass in in good shape and the back glass is in very good condition. The seat frame and springs are still there as well as the original gas tank. The speedometer and gauges have been replaced and the steering wheel and horn button are in good shape and the key is still in the ignition. The bed of the truck has a steel plate wielded over top of the original wood floor. The metal parts of the bed are rusted out completely. The fiberglass panels are in good shape with no cracks. The panels have all the chrome trim except for one top piece. The chrome is pitted. The stainless side trim pieces are in very good condition with new fasteners. The tail light lenses have been replaced with new ones. The fiberglass on the tailgate is in good condition with the exception if 2 small drill holes at the top. The truck has no rear bumper parts or spare tire carrier. The engine has a new fan belt, radiator & heater hoses. The engine is currently stuck, but the cylinders are soaking in a mixture of 1/3 Marvels Mystery Oil, 1/3 transmission fluid, and 1/3 kerosene. The clutch and transmission still works. A new battery tray has been installed as well as cables. The radiator has been replaced, but not tested. The frame is in good solid condition. The engine compartment inner fenders are in good shape. The truck rolls and steers well. The truck has a set of NOS G70-15 wide white wall tires on it. It has no brakes.
