1982 Chevrolet S-10 Pro-Street

1982 Chevy S-10 Pro-Street. My father had this truck built for the street back in 2002 and then decided he wanted to go drag racing at the age of 70! The only things he changed for drag racing was the drivers seat/seat harnesses, he removed the rear street tires and put on slicks, and cut the exhaust off 24 inches after then end of the headers. Very easy to put it back to street by adding exhaust, rear street tires, and putting in a couple of seats. He only drag raced it twice in 2003 (seven 1/4 mile runs), then passed away later that year. His best run was a 12.765 at 103.48 mph. I was going to keep it with my car collection, but I have run out of room and don't have time to drag race.
The body is straight as an arrow, it is an all steel body and the inside of the bed has been tubbed and looks great. All the work was done by a professional street rod shop in Cincinnati, Ohio. The paint is Viper Red and looks like a mirror. All the orange peel was sanded out when it was originally painted and it still looks nice today. There are a some chips here and there, but overall looks very nice.
The engine is a 1966 Corvette 327, .060 over with a steel crankshaft. The heads are angle plugs with 2.05/1.60 valves. The cam is a Lunati 310 duration/485 lift. and the intake is a Weiend Tunnel Ram. The dual carbs are edelbrocks, and the ignition is a Mallory Unilite w/Accel super coil and Taylor wires.
The trans is a 350 Turbo with a B&M shift kit and a 3500 Fairbanks 3500 stall converter. The rear is a S&W back half with coil overs, narrowed 9" Ford, 31 spline axles and 4.11 gears. The wheels are Welds, 15x14 rears and 14x7s up front. Slicks are Mikey Thompsons - 32x14-15. It also has adjustable rear shocks, 10 point roll cage, MSD 6AL ignition box, electric fan, push button start, and a Line Lock.
The interior has carpet, door panels, full dash with working instruments (speedo, oil, fuel and water gauges also). All the lights work. It has crank windows and they roll up and down as they should. It is fun to drive on the street with the power steering and power brakes, but the it is loud without an exhaust. It starts, runs, and shifts just fine. Dad had over $25,000 into his truck to make it just the way he wanted. If I had more room, I would keep this one, but need the space.
