Listed is a 1946 chevy with 1960 chevy drive train (ie fram, brake, transmission (4 speed with granny low) The motor is a 235 cu. in 6 cyl.. with hydraulic lifters, casting numbers indicate this is a car motor from a 1956 chevy.
This is a RAT!!!! the body is full of putty and rust! ( see interior headliner pic.)This is also a reliable driver, I drive it several times a week 15 to 30 mile trips. It is smooth at 60 mph. I use it for hauling construction materials. This would be a great truck for business advertising or display. I run premium or non ethanol gas. Notice water/ fuel separator on bed side. The history as told to me is that this was an electrical linemans truck for Duke Power? in Raleigh N.C. . It was a service truck at least as the truck had a utility bed with custom compartments and old wiring paraphinalia. The bed was in such poor shape that I scraped it. The existing bed and running boards are made of salt treated lumber, the bed is and 4 ft by 7 ft, and fenders are steel trailer fenders. The hood trim is installed backwards (angle) and the Apache 10 emblem is a nod to the 1960 drive train. The windshield is plexiglass (the original roll out was too rusted to save. Gas tank is from the 60 chevy and moved outside the cab (has new sending unit and gauge. (which occasionally sticks after sweeping at start up, bulb scraping tank? ) The truck has a rebuilt alternator and new amp gauge, as well as temp and oil pressure gauges. I added turn signals and brake lights and wired the high and low beams together on the headlights, the running lights are wired as turn signals. and added a new style fuse box. The truck has a radio with cassette player and mini speakers( will throw in the clapton tape) when putting together I also added an after market air cleaner and installed a new oil pump and brake/clutch master cylinder. The tires have less than 2 thousand miles. Wheels are sixteen inch, 6 lug, and the Hub caps are from mid 50's chevy car ? and are held on with clips, cool!Included is the front bumper with valance as well as original dual horns ( see photo).
