Description:

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

1969 BBC 396/375hp high-perf engine tucked inside a 1957 Chevy Bel Air.

THE ENGINE; Bought the engine from a private party, rebuilt in 1976 to factory specs and installed. Had the Muncie M21 rebuilt at the same time. The car was last registered and driven in 1982. Engine and trans have less than 10,000 miles on them. I fired it up twice last month for about twenty minutes each time and no smoke. Gauge shows over 50-psi oil pressure at start-up and idle. Needs carb adjustment. Power got to the ground via the stock 57 rear end. This one has a 3:90 open gear in it. I am including in the sale, a 12 bolt Chevy rear from a 1970 small block Z28. If I remember correctly it has a 3:73 posi gear in it.

THE CAR; Purchased in Feb of 1975. Has clean N.J. title. Spent most of my time and money on the mechanicals back then. After 82 the car sat both inside and out. (mostly out) It is rusty so assume the worst. Pretty much from the knees down the body is too rusty to try and restore. I haven’t gone over every square inch of the frame but what I have seen is sound.

This is a short list of what I know to still be good on the car:

1)All the stainless except for the 6 gold front fender louvers. See pic.

2)Hood

3)Hood hinges

4)Trunk hinges and torsion rods

5)Upper radiator brace and side baffles

6)All interior window trim

7)Dashboard and gauge cluster

8)Vent window regulators

9)Most of the glass

10)Door panel trim

Buyer assumes all shipping costs. Vehicle is sold as is with no implied warrantees.
