Description:

1979 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Up for bid is an amazingly nice condition 1979 Chevy Monte Carlo Landau. This is a 2 elderly owner, rust free vehicle, that originally came from Las Vegas. It has less than 25,000 miles, and it shows it. The paint is very nice, with only a half dozen or so small chips and paint flaws in it. It is believed to be from the factory, but the dealer may have done the black 2 tone paint with pin striping. This could be confirmed with the build sheet, which is likely behind a panel in the original interior. This car is virtually untouched, sporting its original Catalytic convertor, some part stickers on the suspension, and amazingly enough, it still has the paper frame tag hanging off the frame with its little steel wire! This car has seen very little wet roads in its lifetime! Being a Monte Carlo, it also has the F-41 suspension package with the front and rear roll bars. The spare has never been used, and once again, the car is rust free. Cars of this era are becoming more and more collectible, with the best ones being the unmolested original models. Many of these cars have been modified or made into race cars due to their lighter weight, and the universal fit of most GM performance engines.
The interior is pristine. The velour seats have not lost any of their nap. The carpet, headliner, interior panels, plastic parts, dash, seats and steering wheel are almost perfect, and have no wear or cracking. Everything works with the exception of the clock. Usually, they gum up and just need a cleaning to get them running. The car is loaded with options including power windows and door locks. It has cruise with tilt steering and 6 way power drivers seat. If you are a fan of Monte Carlos, you know that the gauge package is uncommon. Even less common is a crack free dashboard. The only upgrade done to the car is the Kenwood AM/FM/CD radio. The original radio is included in the sale. I'm digging the clear plastic mats, reminds me of the 50's.
The engine bay is also as it came from the factory with only maintenance items replaced. All the bolt heads are still blue, with patina showing that it is not a repaired vehicle. The engine is the bullet proof Chevy 305, that is barely broken in. She floats down the highway at 70 MPH with the utmost comfort, especially with the cruise on, (I wish my car had cruise). The A/C is ice cold.
The paint is likely lacquer, with no cracking or fading. This car has been garaged its entire life. I see some very small dings in the hood from it being closed on something, and one small ding in the passenger quarter panel. All of them should be repairable by a Dent Wizard without the need of a repaint. Otherwise, she is very straight. The factory vinyl top looks like it was installed yesterday. The top is shiny, with no cracking or lifting. There are zero rust bubbles under the top. The front window and side windows are clear and have no major pitting or scratches. Overall, the car presents very well, and has won several awards at local car shows. My only complaint is how they installed the chrome fillers in the bumpers. The adhesive is weakening, so they should be reset. Tires have very good tread.
The car was purchased, and is still owned by a man in his 70's, from the estate of a woman who was in her 90's. He has enjoyed this car for about 2 years. It is located in Boca Raton, Florida. It is about 20 miles each way from Fort Lauderdale International or Palm Beach International, so you can easily fly in and drive home in your new prize. We would be happy to assist in getting the car on a car carrier service for you if you would prefer. We would also be happy to help with getting the car to a shipping company at either local port if you are from out of the country. Buyer is responsible for all transportation costs.
