1973 Chevrolet Nova
RELISTED - LOWER RESERVE.
Up for auction is my 1973 Chevy Nova. It’s not your average Nova. It is a Street/Strip car, leaning very heavily to the strip and not so much on the street. It IS street legal, (barely). Currently licensed, and insured. This is one mean Nova! Lots of fun whether you like cruise ins or going to the drag strip. It turns heads everywhere it goes. You can’t even trailer it without drawing attention. Every fuel stop of the tow rig results in folks wanting to come check out your car and talk about it.
Let’s start with the basics.
The engine is a 454 bored .060 over, giving you 468 cubic inches. Lunati cam .680 lift, 202 duration and solid lifters. Eagle forged 502 crank and Eagle H beam connecting rods, and TRW high domed pistons with molly rings. Fuel is delivered through a Holley 750 double pumper w/ race jets sitting on a Wiend G-Force high rise single plane intake. ½” aluminum fuel lines from the 5 gallon fuel cell to the pressure regulator. Mallory high volume fuel pump as well as Mallory adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Spark is delivered by a Magneto distributor. Valve timing is controlled by a set of Cloyes noisy gear drive timing set.
Power is delivered through a TCI Racing 400 turbo transmission with a manual valve body and a B&M 3500 stall converter hooked to a B&M ratchet shifter. Then it goes to a GM 10 bolt rear with a full spool and 4.88 gears, attached to Strange axles.
This Nova has an 8 point cage, 2 racing seats, battery relocated to the trunk with external power kill switch. 4 brand new tires and centerline rims. Electric water pump, electric fan, traction bars. The entire body is steel with the exception of the lift off fiberglass hood. It also has a manual rack and pinion steering unit. Like I said before, 4 brand new tires, Metric 165R15 skinnies up front, and Mickey Thompson Sportsman N50-15s in the rear.
The fuel system is capable of running either E85 or race gas. I'm currently running it on 110 octane.
Here’s the bad. The body is 43 years old. There is some rust in the floorboard as well as the trunk. There is also a little bit of very minor rust starting to pop up here and there around the car. There is also a few spots where the paint has chipped or flaked off. The fiberglass hood has definitely seen better days. It has cracks and chips.
There is no A/C or heat, nor are there any windows in the doors or windshield wipers. The rear window, and ¼ glass windows are Lexan. The front windshield is a Brand spanking new glass windshield with a brand new crack in it. I was going to replace the windshield at the higher reserve, since I lowered the reserve that's off the table. If you would like it replaced before you pick up the car that can be arranged, I can get it done for you cheap, Your call.
I have set a reserve on this auction, but I feel it is a very reasonable reserve. You couldn’t build this engine for what the reserve is. My loss is your gain, the car’s gotta go.I'm sure there are probably details I'm forgetting, that's why I encourage questions.
If you have any questions, I encourage you to ask. I’ll answer any questions as best I can as quickly as I can. Once the reserve is met this is an absolute sale. If you don’t ask your questions there’s no excuse to back out of your bid. Ask before you bid! There are no refunds!
Winning bidder must pay a $500 nonrefundable deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction end. Balance to be paid within 7 days via wire transfer, cold hard cash, or bank certified check. No personal checks. If paying via Bank check, car will be held until check clears. Payment must be made within 7 days but If arrangements are made within 24 hours of auction end I can store the car inside for a reasonable amount of time at no charge while transportation is arranged. This car WILL need to be trailered. The 5 gallon fuel cell is not going to get you to the nearest fuel station. Lol
If you like good old fashioned American muscle, you are going to LOVE this car. You can’t drive it on rainy days with no wipers but who would want to? With as much torque and horsepower this machine has driving in the rain would be sketchy as hell anyhow.
If you have a 0 eBay rating, please email me before bidding. No offense, but I need to know for sure you are real.
Last time it was listed it was eBay only, this time I have it listed locally for sale. I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally.
HAPPY BIDDING AND THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO LOOK.
